A beginner in photography.

Although he has only recently joined the professional photography scene in An Giang , Truong Phu Quoc (27 years old) - a member of the Photography Branch of the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of the province - has made his mark through awards at competitions both within and outside the province. Quoc is considered by many photographers to be a dynamic and enthusiastic young photographer. In 2024, Quoc won a gold medal at the 39th Mekong Delta Regional Art Photography Festival.

In 2025, Quoc won second prize in the provincial traditional art photography competition and an honorable mention in the Vietnam Young Photographers Competition. Three of his works were exhibited at the 3rd National Art Photography Competition "Homeland on the Edge of the Waves". These awards and exhibitions not only affirm his talent but also demonstrate his dedication to photography. Recently, Quoc was admitted to the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and awarded the title of Photographic Artist.

Quoc's passion for photography didn't come from an initial plan, but rather from his work as a tour guide in Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone. Each time he captured a beautiful, satisfying photo that pleased a client, it ignited a new love for the subject. He began to delve deeper into photography, honing his skills through practical experience and from friends... The knowledge and skills he acquired helped him convey emotion in each photograph, shaping his own photographic style.

Anh Quoc shared: “As a tour guide, I have the opportunity to travel to many places and discover the beautiful scenery of Phu Quoc Island. These trips not only provide memorable experiences but also inspire me to capture the beautiful moments of the land and people here, creating new perspectives on my homeland where I was born and raised. I hope to introduce the beauty of Phu Quoc to friends and tourists, both domestic and international, so that visitors can explore and discover its beauty, contributing to the promotion of Phu Quoc as a tourist destination.”

Connecting the family's passion

Mr. Nguyen Huu Hao, residing in Tinh Bien ward, is also one of the active young photographers contributing to the province's photography movement. Mr. Hao's parents are both photographers. From a young age, he was exposed to cameras. Every day, he accompanied his father to take photos, which is perhaps why he developed a love for photography. As he grew up, he pursued his passion for photography like his parents. After graduating with a degree in computer engineering from Can Tho University, he worked at the Tinh Bien Cultural, Sports and Broadcasting Center to fulfill his passion for filmmaking and photography.

Mr. Hao always prioritizes his hometown of An Giang, capturing moments of life, culture, and the beauty of its mountains and forests. Traveling extensively for work, he always carries a camera in his backpack to record these beautiful moments. Through his explorations and experiments, Mr. Hao's works are authentic and relatable, documenting everyday moments and simple yet meaningful stories. Whether it's natural landscapes, people, or local culture, each of his photographs possesses a unique character, clearly reflecting his personality and distinctive artistic perspective.

Hao is considered by photographers in the province to be a promising young talent, always demonstrating seriousness, passion, and a high spirit of learning. After many years behind the camera, Hao has produced many emotionally rich works that have been well-received by the public. Hao shared: “I am happy that my work is well-received, and many of my works contribute to promoting tourism in my province. I clearly see the path I want to pursue and am determined to commit to photography long-term, thereby continuing my family's passion for photography. I will strive to learn, hone my skills, and create many new works with greater artistic value.”
