The Association of Economic Universities of Russia and Vietnam has approved a joint operating charter, aiming to develop cooperation between universities of the two countries, research potential cooperation projects and programs.
According to a VNA reporter in Moscow, on the afternoon of November 26, at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation (FU) in Moscow, the first meeting of the Association of Economic Universities of the Russian Federation and Vietnam and the signing ceremony of documents to join this association took place.
According to the agreement on September 10, the Association of Economic Universities of Russia and Vietnam has adopted a joint operating charter, stating that the goal is to develop cooperation between universities of the two countries, coordinate research on potential cooperation projects and programs. The Rector of FU and the Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics are the two co-Chairs of the Association.
Speaking at the event, Nikolai Kudriavtsev, acting head of the International Cooperation Department of the Russian Ministry of Education, stated that in 2025, Vietnam and Russia will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. So far, cooperation between the two countries has covered many areas, of which educational cooperation has always been maintained at a very high level. Each year, Russia grants Vietnam 1,000 scholarships to its leading universities. According to 2022-2023 data, about 3,000 Vietnamese students are studying in the Land of White Birch. According to Mr. Kudriavtsev, it is not only necessary to train highly specialized human resources, but also important is the output for human resources and the cooperation of schools in the above association is also aimed at carrying out this task.
At the above meeting, FU Rector Stanislav Prokofiev said that the development of narrow specialized cooperation in educational cooperation between Vietnam and Russia aims to realize the requirement to strengthen cooperation that the leaders of the two countries agreed upon during the visit to Vietnam in June 2023 by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The establishment of the Association of Economic Universities of Russia and Vietnam aims to achieve concrete results in scientific research cooperation, project implementation, and mutual cultural and linguistic promotion between the two countries. Professor, Dr. S. Prokofiev also believes that by joining the Association, member educational institutions will be able to improve their training quality as well as contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.
For his part, President of Ho Chi Minh University of Economics Nguyen Dong Phong said that for a long time, Vietnam's economic and financial universities have established individual cooperative relationships with Russian universities of the same major, but expanding the Association and establishing a joint cooperative organization is a strategic step, not only increasing resources but also raising the level of the organization, aiming to solve global challenges through educational and research cooperation. He believes that today's event marks the beginning of a new phase of cooperation and is an important foundation to deepen the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.
Also at this meeting, representatives of the Ho Chi Minh University of Economics, Banking Academy, University of Economics - National University, Hanoi University of Finance and Banking signed a Memorandum of Understanding on joining the Association. The Association has admitted new members including the Uran University of Economics, Rostov University, and the Foreign Trade Academy.
Another event affirming the importance of cooperation with Vietnam in the field of education is that on the same day, the Russian Ministry of Education awarded the badge "Russian Education Ambassador" to Ms. To Tuyet Khanh, an expert on international cooperation at the Russian University of Finance, recognizing the importance of the bridge in Russia-Vietnam cooperation./.
