In the second quarter of 2025, HDBank achieved over VND 4,713 billion in pre-tax profit and the accumulated profit in the first 6 months of the year reached VND 10,068 billion - the highest semi-annual profit ever and exceeded the threshold of VND 10,000 billion.
Positive credit growth, effective risk management
In the first 6 months of 2025, HDBank's net interest income reached VND 17,227 billion, up 15.8% over the same period last year. Non-interest income from payment services, digital banking, foreign exchange trading, etc. increased strongly by over 210% over the same period, contributing to a 30% increase in total operating income to VND 20,840 billion. At the same time, the effectiveness of digital transformation was clearly demonstrated with optimized operating costs, helping the CIR ratio improve strongly to an impressive level of 25.5%.
With the above results, HDBank continues to lead the industry in terms of operational efficiency with a return on equity (ROE) of 26.5%; a high return on assets (ROA) of 2.2%. The bad debt ratio as regulated by the State Bank of Vietnam continues to be controlled at a low level of 1.94%. The capital adequacy ratio (CAR) is over 13% (according to Basel II standards). Other safety indicators are guaranteed at a good level compared to the industry.
As of June 30, 2025, HDBank's total assets exceeded VND 784 trillion, up 12.4% compared to the beginning of the year. Mobilization of VND 664 trillion increased by 7%. Outstanding loans exceeded VND 517 trillion, up 18.2% compared to the beginning of the year and nearly twice the industry average (up 9.9%), focusing on priority areas such as infrastructure, production, consumption and are the growth drivers of the economy with low risks. The bank actively implemented major programs under the direction of the Government and the State Bank such as loans for social housing development and young customers buying houses, credit packages for infrastructure and digital technology, value chains, loans for rural areas and high-tech agriculture, green credit, etc.
Member units of HD Financial Group such as HD SAISON Finance Company or Vikki Digital Bank Limited - the only bank that did not lay off employees in the banks receiving transfers under the Government 's banking restructuring program - also recorded positive results in the first 6 months with the number of app downloads exceeding 1 million in just 5 months of operation. The number of financial transaction points of HD SAISON has exceeded 27,100 points, serving 15.5 million customers. Pre-tax profit in the first 6 months of the year reached 709 billion VND, up 18% over the same period.
At Vikki Digital Bank, after a comprehensive transformation from Dong A Bank to a new generation digital bank, this attractive and youthful brand has recorded more than 1 million app downloads and opened more than 600,000 new accounts in just 5 months of operation, demonstrating strong market acceptance.
HD Securities Company also achieved a profit of VND382 billion with a ROE of 29%, among the top 10 most profitable companies, with income mainly coming from services.
Breakthrough in digital business, leading the management standard
In the second quarter, digital business programs continued to be strongly implemented, bringing positive results with 75% of new customers attracted through digital channels. The number of transactions on digital platforms increased by 51% and the rate of individual customers' transactions made on digital channels accounted for 94% of total transactions. Digital solutions for corporate customers continued to be launched and continuously improved, contributing to increasing the number of customers and business efficiency.
Other major technology projects such as applying AI, machine learning to management, training, and operational automation continue to accelerate. HDBank is pioneering the deployment of advanced core banking technology and new generation digital banking super applications. These transformations not only enhance user experience but also create a foundation for banks to develop comprehensive, personalized digital financial models and expand digital ecosystem connectivity.

The results achieved by HDBank in the second quarter and the first 6 months of the year exceeded the expectations of shareholders and investors compared to the plan set for the 2025 fiscal year.
