In the first 5 months of 2025, the total retail sales and revenue of goods, services, accommodation, food and beverage and travel in the province is estimated at 55,054 billion VND, an increase of 13% over the same period last year. By industry: retail sales of goods are estimated at 43,222 billion VND, accounting for 78.5% of the total and increasing by 12.93% over the same period, of which: 12/12 groups of goods increased compared to the same period in 2024; revenue from accommodation, food and beverage and travel services is estimated at 11,832 billion VND, accounting for 21.5% of the total and increasing by 13.28% over the same period.
The implementation of the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" is also focused on. The Department of Industry and Trade coordinates with Tay Ninh Newspaper, Tay Ninh Radio and Television to promote communication of trade promotion programs, implement the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", support businesses in communicating about products, brands, sales methods, and business locations to consumers.
Regarding trade promotion, the Department of Industry and Trade organizes the 2025 Trade and Industry Fair, OCOP products and regional specialties of Tay Ninh province, combined with a series of events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Tay Ninh province's Liberation Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), taking place from April 25 to May 2, 2025 with a scale of more than 150 participating booths.
Regarding market management, the Department of Industry and Trade directed the Market Management Department to strengthen local management, monitor and update market developments, apply professional measures, proactively coordinate with relevant authorities to conduct market inspection and control, focusing on inspection of prices, origin of goods, product quality, food safety regulations... to detect and promptly handle violations in accordance with the law.
In particular, acts of trading in smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, acts of speculation, hoarding, price increases of goods and services; violations in trade promotion activities, violations in trading goods on e-commerce platforms to ensure market stability, production and business activities of enterprises and consumption of people.
Regarding the work of reserving goods for circulation, petroleum companies in the province have reserving goods for circulation according to regulations, strictly implementing the minimum amount of petroleum that has been assigned, and have plans to ensure the supply of petroleum to serve the production and consumption of people and businesses, including taking into account the increased demand when the whole country promotes the implementation of economic development activities in the new situation.
In the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to implement solutions to promote domestic market development and stimulate consumption in 2025; monitor and notify detailed content of upcoming trade promotion programs and events to Associations and enterprises for information and registration, as well as support connections; organize participation in trade promotion programs at the invitation and request of provinces, cities and domestic and foreign trade promotion organizations.
