V-SAT 2025 adds Literature
V-SAT is a computer-based university entrance assessment test organized by participating universities, coordinated by the National Center for Testing andEducation Quality Assessment (Ministry of Education and Training), supporting and providing a question bank.
According to the National Center for Testing and Educational Quality Assessment, the V-SAT test is designed to assess candidates' abilities for the purpose of university admission.
Unlike 2 years ago, the 2025 V-SAT exam has adjustments that are more suitable for assessing the capacity of high school students according to the 2018 General Education Program, with high classification.
The test consists of 8 independent subjects, corresponding to 7 subjects in the high school curriculum: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, English and Literature. Therefore, from 2025, the V-SAT test will have an additional Literature subject.
The exam is organized in the form of a computer-based test lasting 90 minutes for Math and Literature; 60 minutes for the remaining subjects. The test is in the form of objective multiple-choice tests for each subject, which are taken independently on the computer. The Literature test is a combination of objective multiple-choice tests and essay writing on the computer.
The question formats in the exam include 4 question formats: True/False multiple choice questions; 4-choice objective multiple choice questions; Matching multiple choice questions; Short answer or essay multiple choice questions.
Many exam questions have been compiled in the direction of applying the assessment method of the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA); when answering questions, students must apply their knowledge, skills and abilities to solve practical problems.
Depending on the purpose of using the exam results and admission wishes according to the school's enrollment blocks, candidates can register to take from 1 to 8 subjects.

18 Colleges Using the V-SAT for 2025 Admissions
The V-SAT has been used by a number of higher education institutions for admission in the 2023 and 2024 admissions. The exams are organized to ensure safety and efficiency; the quality of the V-SAT exam ensures high reliability and is trusted by higher education institutions for university admissions with increasing numbers.
In 2025, 18 universities have agreed to organize exams and share V-SAT exam results. Specifically: Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, Ho Chi Minh City Banking University, Saigon University, University of Finance and Marketing, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, Van Lang University, Lac Hong University, Can Tho University, Dong Thap University, Tra Vinh University, Vinh University, Hung Yen University of Technical Education, Banking Academy, Hanoi University of Construction, Duy Tan University and Thai Nguyen University.
In particular, some universities announced plans to reserve 10 - 40% of total enrollment targets for all majors in 2025 for the V-SAT exam results admission method.
The biggest advantage of the V-SAT testing method, according to experts, is that candidates can take many subjects and participate in many testing sessions, and can use the subject combination and results of the test with the highest score to register for admission.
In addition, V-SAT is an exam that shares the question bank of the National Testing Center and Education Quality Assessment. The exam content is within the high school curriculum, mainly the grade 12 curriculum (90% of knowledge is from the grade 12 curriculum; 10% of knowledge is from the grade 10 and grade 11 curriculum).
A representative of the National Testing Center and Education Quality Assessment said that this method of using exam results helps candidates choose the most comfortable exam time, escaping the pressure of the High School Graduation Exam and the fear of exams.
