Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa, Head of the Literature Group at Tran Phu High School (Da Nang), assessed that this year's literature exam closely followed the requirements of the 2018 generaleducation program.
According to Mr. Hoa, the reading comprehension section includes clear questions, no riddles, students only need to read the text carefully, have a solid grasp of basic knowledge of literature to be able to do the test. In particular, question number 5 in this section requires students to make connections between two texts but only stops at pointing out similarities in meaning, so it does not create too much pressure.
In the paragraph writing section, the question requires analyzing the feelings of the characters in the reading text, a familiar question type for students. However, to achieve high scores, students need to demonstrate good expression skills, use emotional language, and know how to combine content and expressive art. Mr. Hoa's highest rating is for the writing section.
According to this teacher, this year's social essay topic is very good when it connects reading comprehension materials with a topic that is both rich in tradition and has the breath of the times. In the context of the country having many administrative changes, the topic "the sky of every homeland is the sky of the Fatherland" evokes many deep thoughts and emotions. However, the teacher also noted that if students do not have much practical experience, only limiting their perspective to the family or local space, the essay will hardly achieve the necessary depth. "I think the average score of many students will be around 7" - teacher Hoa commented.
After 120 minutes of taking the literature exam, many candidates said they had completed the first exam smoothly and were confident they would get high scores.

Sharing about the exam, candidate Nam Thien, a student at Nguyen Khuyen High School, said that the social commentary section was difficult, while the reading comprehension and literary commentary sections were relatively "easy", within the candidates' ability. According to Nam, the literature exam according to the new education program is very good, helping to develop students' abilities, avoiding rote learning, biased learning or guessing questions.
"I finished my test on time. With this performance, I think I have an 80% chance of getting a good score" - Nam confidently shared.
Leaving the exam site of Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School (District 10), a group of candidates from Nguyen Du High School excitedly said that they had done quite well in the literature exam. Thanks to that, the candidates will have less pressure in the next exam.
"This year's essay topics are very close to reality, the social argumentation section deals with hot issues of the country. I have taken a lot of specific examples from society to put into my essay. With this exam, I think many students will get high scores" - said contestant Nguyen Hoang Trung.
Female student Kim Dung, a student at Dien Hong Secondary and High School, said that candidates will easily get off topic if they do not read carefully, the questions are open but not unfamiliar to the curriculum. Dung finished 5 pages of paper, satisfied because she completed about 70% of the test.

Most candidates agreed that the reading comprehension material was a bit long, requiring students to equip themselves with good comprehension and problem-solving skills. In addition, the way of expression and presentation must also be reasonable to achieve the maximum score in the reading comprehension section.
