The Ministry of Finance is seeking comments on the draft Decree amending and supplementing Decree 126/2020 of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Tax Administration.
The Ministry assessed that, in recent times, tax authorities have made many efforts to reform, reduce and simplify administrative procedures, but there are still many overlapping and contradictory processes and newly issued procedures that make it difficult for people and businesses to implement.
Administrative procedures are still cumbersome, not only prolonging the time for processing documents but also increasing compliance costs, hindering production and business activities, reducing business competitiveness, and affecting the effectiveness of State management.

Currently, it is estimated that in Decree 126/2020, the tax authority will reduce and simplify 44/143 administrative procedures, accounting for 30.8% of the total number of procedures. Of which, 19/143 administrative procedures will be amended and supplemented, accounting for 13.3%; 25/143 administrative procedures will be abolished, accounting for 17.5%.
The total amount of cuts is expected to be more than 756 billion VND.
