Good transport infrastructure contributes to attracting investment

Coastal routes with focused and key investments such as: Vo Nguyen Giap, Hoa Thang - Hoa Phu, Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh, DT 719, DT 719B, mountainous routes DT 720, DT 766 to Phan Thiet - Dau Giay, Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressways... have contributed to attracting investment and promoting economic development in the Southeast region of the province.

Tra Tan is bustling these days because the streets and alleys are decorated with national flags and bright Party flags to celebrate the success of the 1st Lam Dong Provincial Party Congress. Besides, thousands of workers are rushing to work in industrial clusters, creating a bustling atmosphere completely different from many other localities. Tra Tan is the commune leading the province in industrial development with 5 industrial clusters and 1 industrial park, of which 2 industrial clusters have leased land to businesses to fill up. Why can Tra Tan do this? In the investment strategy, most businesses initially prioritize traffic infrastructure, creating the advantage of "First distance".

To achieve success like today, thanks to many factors related to synchronous investment in technical infrastructure, but first, the prerequisite makes investors choose Tra Tan land, because this place borders Dong Nai, close to industrial parks Bien Hoa, Long Khanh, Binh Duong , near seaports, Ho Chi Minh City airport... From the success in Tra Tan, it is easy to see that in addition to other aspects such as electricity, water... if the traffic infrastructure is completed, it will be more feasible for businesses to choose a "stopping point" for investment. Currently, in the Southeast of the province, there are and will be 4 types of transportation: railway, road, waterway and air route, which are completing the civil part. Many years ago, the above 3 types of transportation already existed, even when there was the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet - Vinh Hao expressway, but why do people and all levels and sectors hope that Phan Thiet airport will soon be put into operation? Because if there is Phan Thiet airport, transporting goods and traveling by air will be faster. Especially for business people, time is money, so adding an air route will add more opportunities to attract businesses to come. At the same time, diversifying types of transportation is the initial problem to invite economic sectors to easily access, then choose and decide to invest.

Evidence, the breakthrough in tourism and industry in the old Binh Thuan region is partly thanks to the contribution of transportation. For example, in 2023, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressways were put into operation, shortening the travel time between Ho Chi Minh City and Mui Ne National Tourist Area from about 4 hours to more than 2 hours. In addition, the Provincial People's Committee has invested in Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh, DT 719, DT 719B routes to create inter-regional connections between tourist destinations from La Gi to Mui Ne. From here, a strong "tourism wave" will be created, helping Binh Thuan welcome nearly 10 million tourists in 2024. Besides, thanks to the operation of the two expressways, a series of investment projects have been attracted to the Son My and Tan Duc industrial parks and other industrial parks such as Ham Kiem, Ham Tan... In addition, dozens of large projects worth millions of USD have been invested in the tourist areas of Tien Thanh, Ke Ga, La Gi, turning this coastal strip into a vibrant tourist destination attracting millions of visitors.

From another perspective, Vinh Tan seaport has been transporting heavy goods that cannot be transported by road for nearly ten years, including transporting hundreds of wind turbines, meeting the wind power industry for the area from Tuy Phong, Hoa Thang to Ham Tan... Phan Thiet seaport in particular, since the enterprise invested in high-speed trains, helping to reduce the travel time to Phu Quy special zone from 6 hours to about 2.5 hours, making it more convenient for people to travel. At the same time, it has attracted millions of tourists to Phu Quy for sightseeing and relaxation. From a pristine island, Phu Quy has now attracted businesses to invest in hotels, motels, and restaurants to serve tourists.

In addition to roads and waterways, the North-South railway passing through the province, the Phan Thiet - Ho Chi Minh City train route also contributes to the effective transport of goods and tourists from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet. The transportation system is gradually being completed, creating a good "physical foundation" to attract domestic and international enterprises to invest. Evidence is that in the period of 2021 - 2025, the whole province has attracted 255 projects with a capital of 189,638.26 billion VND, of which, Binh Thuan (old) attracted 114 projects, with a total registered investment capital of about 155,465 billion VND, including 8 FDI projects with a total registered capital of 4,166 million USD.
