On the afternoon of October 10, Can Tho City Party Committee held a meeting to express gratitude to former Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, Standing Committee members, and Executive Committee members of the Party Committees of Can Tho City, Hau Giang Province, and Soc Trang Province, for the 2020-2025 term, who have contributed to the overall development of Can Tho City today.

Speaking at the meeting, former member of the Standing Committee, former Head of the Propaganda Department, former Secretary of the Vi Thanh City Party Committee, Hau Giang province for the 2015-2020 and 2020-2025 terms, Nguyen Huu Tinh expressed his joy and excitement when the leaders of Can Tho city paid attention, recognized and honored the contributions of himself as well as the former leaders of Can Tho city, Hau Giang province and Soc Trang province.

According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Tinh, implementing the policy of the Central Committee, Politburo , and Secretariat on merging Hau Giang, Can Tho, and Soc Trang provinces with the new name of Can Tho city, along with the arrangement and streamlining of the organization and apparatus in the direction of "refined, compact, strong; effective, efficient, effective" and implementing the 2-level local government model.

It can be said that with a huge amount of work and urgent time "running and queuing at the same time," the arrangement of the organization and operation of the 2-level local government from July 1, 2025 has been completed, smoothly from the city to the wards and communes.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tinh also highly appreciated the documents of the 1st Congress of Can Tho City Party Committee, term 2025-2030, which were carefully, thoroughly, methodically and scientifically prepared; they are the crystallization of the intelligence of the Party Committee, government and people of the city.

We have integrated the achievements of the three localities in the past five years, identified the strengths and weaknesses of each locality to include in the document. On that basis, set out the goals, tasks and solutions for the new term to ensure feasibility in practice.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tinh believes that the new term of the Can Tho City Party Committee opens with the belief and aspiration that by 2030, Can Tho City will become a national growth pole, a center of trade, tourism, logistics, marine economy, processing industry and digital technology of the Mekong Delta; at the same time, aiming to become a smart, livable city, belonging to the group of fairly developed cities in Asia by 2045.

With a team of cadres who have been trained fundamentally and systematically; grown from the grassroots with "enough heart, enough strength, enough virtue, enough talent", together with the unity, cooperation, and joint efforts of the entire Party Committee and people of the city, it is certain that the city will successfully realize the goals and tasks set forth in the Resolution of the Congress...

Speaking at the meeting, Central Party Committee member, Secretary of Can Tho City Party Committee Le Quang Tung, on behalf of the City Party Committee, respectfully acknowledged and expressed deep gratitude for the great contributions of former leaders of the three localities in the past time.

According to the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, many of the former leaders today have held many different positions and positions, but have always upheld a sense of responsibility and determination in thinking and action, together with the Standing Committee, the Standing Committee, and the Executive Committee to come up with solutions to effectively carry out the local political tasks.

At the meeting, the leaders of Can Tho City Party Committee also announced some outstanding results in the 2020-2025 term of the 3 localities and the direction for the 2025-2030 term; announced the Prime Minister's Decision on receiving and appointing Mr. Do Thanh Binh, member of the Party Central Committee, former Secretary of Can Tho City Party Committee to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Minister of Home Affairs; announced the Decision of the City Party Committee's Executive Committee on awarding the Gratitude Board, recognizing the achievements and contributions of former comrades of Can Tho City, Hau Giang Province, Soc Trang Province for the 2020-2025 term to the city's development./.
