It is known that Nguyen Du Monument began to be formed in 1960 and was ranked at the national level by the State. In particular, on September 27, 2012, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1419/QD-TTg ranking Nguyen Du Monument as a special national monument. This monument has a fairly spacious space with a cool green garden and a number of wooden houses with architectural characteristics of the North Central region in the 18th century. At the monument, there are many valuable artifacts associated with the life and career of Nguyen Du. Therefore, this place has also become an attractive destination for tourists and cultural researchers.
The total area of KLN is about 28,500m2 . In the past, this was one of the sandbanks (con moc binh sa) belonging to one of the famous beautiful landscapes of Nghi Xuan land. According to historical records, in 1592, Nguyen Nhiem - a talented general of the Mac dynasty, came here to hide, develop and become the Nguyen family garden - Tien Dien.
During the reign of Nguyen Nghiem and Nguyen Khan (father and brother of Nguyen Du), who held important positions under the Le - Trinh dynasty, architectural works such as mansions, steles, etc. were built within the campus. In 1971, Nguyen Quynh (brother of Nguyen Du) rose up against the Tay Son movement, and the governor Nguyen Quang Du ordered his troops to burn it down, leaving only a few traces.
In 1962, the Ministry of Culture - Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) decided to choose the Nguyen family's premises - Tien Dien as Nguyen Du relic site. In 2001-2003, the relic site was invested in for renovation and embellishment to make it more spacious. By 2015, the Prime Minister had approved the master plan for the conservation and embellishment of Nguyen Du relic site, including the relic site and the landscape conservation area to promote the values of the relic site, hoping to build this relic site into a national cultural and tourist destination associated with the poetic values of Nguyen Du and the traditional cultural values of the locality, from here forming tourist routes linking the relics, creating a space to honor historical - cultural and traditional values. After 8 years of restoration, up to now, the restoration project groups at KLN have been completed, including Nguyen Du church, Van Thanh church, Truong Ninh pagoda, Cho Tro communal house, Binh Van house, Nguyen family church - Tien Dien,...

Woodblock version of the great poet Nguyen Du - World cultural celebrity
Thanks to that, KLN has increased its special value in terms of history, culture, science,... helping us learn about the origin, formation process, development, cultural traditions, and academic achievements of the Nguyen family in Tien Dien as well as the recognition of the life, career, and contributions of the Great Poet Nguyen Du and the Nguyen family in Tien Dien to Vietnamese literature. This is also a reliable source of information to learn about the beliefs, customs, practices, cultural life, and spirit of Tien Dien village in particular, and Vietnamese village culture in general in the development of national history.
Nguyen Du's Chinese Poetry
However, in reality, the display of artifacts at the KLN is still not impressive. The Management Board of Nguyen Du KLN recognized this and proposed to use digital technology in the display, but it has not been implemented. Entering the KLN, there is a room selling research books, poems, and literature about the Great Poet, but it is sparse and monotonous. In addition, there are very few signs and introduction boards for most of the relics in the KLN, so without a tour guide, visitors will have difficulty understanding the works.
The tomb of the Great Poet is located in the middle of Cung field, over 1km from KLN. The stone tombstone is engraved with the words "World Cultural Celebrity - Great Poet Nguyen Du". The tomb is rectangular, 1.2m high, 1.3m wide, 2.3m long./.
