Safely relocated 227kg bomb in Phong Nha commune

Information from the PeaceTrees VietNam Quang Binh Project on the morning of July 14 said that the MTT1 Multi-Task Team safely handled a 227kg bomb in Phong Nha commune, Quang Tri province.

Accordingly, on July 6, while dredging and clearing the Son River, the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board discovered a bomb about 200m from the Phong Nha cave entrance. Immediately afterwards, the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board suspended dredging and tourism activities on the Phong Nha - Tien Son route to ensure the safety of tourists; at the same time, notified the authorities to coordinate in handling the incident.

Immediately upon receiving a request from the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command for assistance in handling bombs and mines in the Phong Nha cave area, the PeaceTrees Vietnam Quang Binh Project quickly dispatched forces to the scene and moved the MK82 bomb, weighing 227kg, to a safe explosives warehouse.
