Mr. Pham Ngoc Dung - Director of the Management Board of the Northern Huong River Protective Forest ( Hue City) confirmed that the forest protection force of the unit had just promptly discovered and assisted a female student who had strayed into the deep forest.
According to the director of the Northern Huong River Protective Forest Management Board, on the afternoon of May 22, a female student in grade 10 (Phong Thu commune, Phong Dien town, Hue city) rode a motorbike to visit her friend's house in Phong Xuan commune.
The female student used the Google Maps application on her phone to navigate, but instead of reaching her friend's house, she got lost deep in the forest on Highway 71, near Rao Trang Hydropower Plant.
While she was confused, the female student met the forest rangers from Phong Xuan Forest Protection Management Station on patrol. The forest rangers encouraged her and helped her get home, then returned to the Station to carry out their mission.
Last June, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Thua Thien - Hue Province (now Hue City) also successfully rescued three female students who got lost at Hon Vuon Mountain (Huong Ho Ward).
Specifically, at around 9:30 a.m. on June 14, 2024, Center 114 received the report and immediately sent 18 officers and soldiers to coordinate with local police to search.
At 12 noon, the rescue team found the three female students and helped them down the mountain. Due to the hot weather and slippery terrain, the victims were exhausted and the authorities had to help and carry them one by one. By 2 pm, all three were brought out safely.
They said they went for a walk and got lost on the way back.
