In recent times, the Department of Industry and Trade has regularly selected and built Vietnamese Points of Sale in districts to serve consumers. The Vietnamese Point of Sale model has become a trusted and familiar shopping address for many people, one of the distribution channels, bringing quality Vietnamese goods to consumers, contributing to the development of the domestic market with a fixed and sustainable Vietnamese goods distribution system.

In the period of 2018-2020, the Department of Industry and Trade implemented a pilot model of Vietnamese Point of Sale at 9 convenience stores called "Proud of Vietnamese Products", with a total support budget of 498 million VND for 9 stores.

With the name "Proud of Vietnamese products", in 2022, the Department of Industry and Trade will organize 3 more convenience stores in Trang Bang town, Chau Thanh district and Tan Chau district, supporting 181 million VND/3 points. In 2023, the Department will implement 2 points of Vietnamese Sales Points at 2 convenience stores in Ben Cau district and Tan Bien district.

Ms. Van Thi Chi - owner of Vietnam 7 Vu Point of Sale, Suoi May Hamlet, Thanh Bac Commune (Tan Bien District) said that the store was supported by the Department of Industry and Trade with shelves, display racks, signs, training, consulting on promotion, product introduction, convenient display of goods, classified by type of goods, groups of goods, the store was neatly arranged, the goods were abundant, convenient for consumers to choose. Thanks to that, the number of customers visiting and shopping increased by 50% compared to before.

The shop owner is committed to selling domestically produced products with clear origin.

Ms. Ho Thi Yen - owner of the Vietnamese Point of Sale in Long Hoa Hamlet, Long Chu Commune (Ben Cau District) said that the goods at the store are guaranteed to be of good quality and have clear origins. In addition, the expiry dates of the goods are checked regularly to avoid expired goods that affect consumers.

“To ensure high quality products, food safety and hygiene and reasonable prices, I choose reputable manufacturers and distributors in the market to contract with to supply products. Therefore, this Vietnamese goods point has attracted a large number of customers to visit and shop, contributing to the rural people giving priority to using Vietnamese goods” - Ms. Yen said.

Coming to buy goods at Vietnam Point of Sale 7 Vu, Mr. Dang The Vinh, Thanh Binh Commune, (Tan Bien District) said: "I often buy goods at Vietnam Point of Sale because the store has a large space, a large quantity of goods, diverse types, and specific areas so it is easy to choose. Vietnam Point of Sale is a reliable address for me to shop."

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the selected Vietnamese Point of Sale for construction must ensure basic criteria such as: goods sold here must be 100% domestically produced, meeting standards on quality, food safety, origin, product labeling... At the "Vietnamese Point of Sale" organized by the Department of Industry and Trade, criteria on origin, quality and food safety and hygiene must be ensured.

Through many years of implementing the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods”, consumers in the province have become more aware of the importance of Vietnamese branded goods, which has brought practical results for domestic manufacturing enterprises to expand the domestic consumption market and improve competitiveness. The distribution system of Vietnamese goods has been gradually established in localities, forming distribution channels for Vietnamese goods to consumers and positively affecting the shopping habits of Vietnamese consumers.

However, the distribution system of Vietnamese goods has not received due attention and lacks sustainability, making it difficult for consumers to distinguish between quality Vietnamese goods and goods floating on the market. Therefore, the Department of Industry and Trade continues to build a model project on Vietnamese Point of Sale at convenience stores called "Proud of Vietnamese Goods" in the province in 2024, to support businesses in organizing distribution channels for goods from the place of production to consumers in the province, especially in rural areas.

In addition, it creates opportunities for domestic manufacturing enterprises to introduce products to the market and provide essential goods to serve consumers. Through Vietnamese Points of Sale, enterprises as well as traders distributing Vietnamese goods will contribute to the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods".

The Department of Industry and Trade said that the construction of a Vietnamese Point of Sale model at convenience stores called "Proud of Vietnamese goods" in the province in 2024 at 2 convenience stores in Go Dau district and Tay Ninh city, belongs to the group of programs to support the development of a fixed and sustainable distribution system for Vietnamese goods.

This will help consumers to correctly perceive the production and business capabilities of Vietnamese enterprises; orient and build a consumer culture for Vietnamese people. Meet the needs of domestic production and consumption; promote the development of the distribution system to create conditions to bring essential Vietnamese goods to consumers in order to increase purchasing power, stabilize the market and improve people's lives.

Fixed Vietnamese points of sale contribute to expanding the market for businesses, while helping people have the opportunity to access a variety of Vietnamese products at reasonable prices and guaranteed quality. Contribute to effectively implementing the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese products".

In the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade recommends that units strengthen propaganda work to raise people's awareness in choosing Vietnamese goods...

From there, forming the habit of shopping, using and supporting Vietnamese goods; contributing to promoting production and business, increasing opportunities for connection and trade between manufacturing enterprises and consumers.

At the same time, relevant sectors of the province and localities regularly inspect and supervise business units to avoid the situation of selling poor quality goods mixed with genuine goods for profit, causing loss of trust among the people.
