200 km north of the capital Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh has become an emerging tourist destination in Malaysia with unique castles, streets, entertainment areas, and nature that attract visitors.

Ipoh is the capital of the state of Perak, about a four-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. Ipoh was founded in the 19th century when the British discovered tin ore in the area and flourished during the mining boom. Kellie's Castle has become a tourist attraction in the state of Perak, appearing in the films Anna and the King in 1999 and Skyline Cruisers in 2000.
