Creating new impetus for cooperation between the two countries
The focus of Minister Nguyen Van Hung's working trip to Seoul in October 2022 was a bilateral meeting with his Korean counterpart. Coincidentally, the Ministries of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and Korea are two units with the same field of state management, which is rare when Vietnam expands diplomatic relations with countries around the world in the fields of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Although the time was not long, this meeting was successful when both sides agreed that in the coming time, the two Ministries of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and Korea will be promoted more strongly and comprehensively in the fields of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Family in the coming time. In just a short time, the two sides have regularly organized meetings with leaders at all levels. In December 2022, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung had a meeting and worked with a delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam Oh Youngju.
In April 2023, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet continued to have a working session with Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea Chun Byung Keuk. Just one month later, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong had a working session with the delegation of Korean National Assembly members led by Mr. Suh Byung-soo. Here, the two sides agreed on many solutions for cooperation in culture, sports and tourism in the future. Most recently, on June 16 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Hanoi), Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung had a meeting and worked with Mr. Choi Joo Ho, General Director of Samsung Vietnam. At the meeting, the Minister asked the General Director of Samsung Vietnam to support the construction of the "Happy Family" column in the Electronic Culture Newspaper. Minister Nguyen Van Hung stated that in the trend of integration and development, the exchange between the two economies and people has been promoted, in recent years, many Koreans and Vietnamese have established families together. In both Vietnam and Korea, there are multicultural families. Therefore, the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is to build family happiness when each person comes from a different country and how to keep the culture of each ethnic group preserved in those families. To do this, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is planning to build a column in the Electronic Culture Newspaper to achieve the above goal. That column will be translated into Korean so that both Koreans and Vietnamese people can learn about the customs, habits, traditions and family values of the two countries.
Sharing with Van Hoa , Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation Tran Nhat Hoang said that Vietnam will continue to propose cooperation with Korea in areas under the state management of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism such as: Proposing to establish a Vietnamese Cultural Center in Korea; Promoting more cultural, sports and tourism exchange activities to enhance understanding and friendship between the people of the two countries, including Korea creating more conditions to introduce Vietnamese culture, country and people in Korea; Proposing to support Vietnam in applying modern technology in museum exhibitions, relic restoration, human resource training and responding to climate change in activities to protect and promote the value of cultural heritage; Proposing Korea to share experiences in developing the entertainment industry, especially cinema and music; sending experts to help Vietnam effectively implement the Cultural Industry Development Strategy; Promote cooperation in sports, increase exchanges of delegations of officials, athletes, coaches, referees, especially in Korea's strong sports such as taekwondo, archery, shooting, football and in the fields of sports management training, sports science research; Request Korea to share experiences in its strong fields such as smart tourism development, digital tourism application in tourism development, cultural - culinary tourism development, tourism development towards green growth through seminars, training courses for officials, tourism businesses and technical assistance projects for ASEAN countries; Korea continues to support Vietnam Tourism Ambassador Ly Xuong Can to organize activities to promote Vietnamese tourism in Korea...
