Literature subject will have a score range from 6.75 to 7.5.
The 2025 Literature exam for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City has the theme: "ON THE JOURNEY TO GROWTH - a journey that does not only start from the days, but also starts from love. Growing up is not only about growing up but also about knowing the values in life."
Mr. Bao Khoi, a Literature lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, commented that the exam differentiated well and fully performed the function of "touching people's hearts", in accordance with the purpose and requirements of the exam.
The theme On the journey to adulthood evokes many valuable perceptions for students, helping them to love and bond more with their family, to sympathize with others, to distinguish clearly and discover true values in life.
The structure of the exam according to the topic axis is kept stable similar to previous years, closely following the direction given by the Department of Education and Training. On the other hand, the Literature exam focuses on familiar issues, at the same time encourages creativity, encourages students to express their own views and feelings on the issue, and creates a sharing with students, so we must give more respect to the person who created the exam.

Teacher Bao Khoi predicts that the literature exam scores will be concentrated in the range of 6.75-7.5. Like every year, scores above 8 will be few and scores above 9 are quite rare.
Mr. Do Duc Anh, Literature teacher at Bui Thi Xuan High School, said that the Literature exam for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City was good, humane, balanced, modern, evoked emotions, and made students interested.
The topic evokes sincere emotions and helps students express deep thinking, in line with the innovative spirit of the subject in the 2018 Program, suitable for the psychology and age of 9th grade students.
The Literature exam does not focus on memorization, but rather on assessing thinking, perception, and reasoning abilities. Students are not shocked by the exam because they do not have to face macro social issues or heavy philosophical thoughts, but have the opportunity to express their own thoughts.
Mr. Vo Kim Bao, a teacher at Nguyen Du Secondary School, also acknowledged that the content of the Literature exam was very close and suitable for students' ages. With the topic of the Journey to Adulthood being highly open, students were not pressured and could easily come up with many good and unique ideas while doing the test.
However, according to Mr. Bao, it is not easy to get a high score on this Literature test. With a test that has very clear differentiation, according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program, an average student who studies with the right goals (developing qualities and abilities) can get at least 6.5-7 points. But an average student who does not study with the right direction and has the habit of relying on solutions will find it difficult to do quality tests.
Mr. Bao believes that a student who is confident with the knowledge he has learned, does not need sample essays or sample solutions that still meet the basic requirements, will easily achieve a score of 8 or higher.
Math will no longer have half of the candidates scoring below 5, predicted score range from 5.5 to 6
This year's 10th grade math exam in Ho Chi Minh City has 7 questions, one less than last year, and new knowledge about statistics and probability appears. At the end of the math exam, most candidates in Ho Chi Minh City were excited because they did quite well on the test.
Dr. Pham Hong Danh, Head of the Department of Basic Mathematics (Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics ) commented that this year's Math exam was easier than last year's. The question data was more concise and easier to understand than last year's.
With this test, there will not be a scene where half of the students score below 5 points like in recent years. Students who have done the sample test will definitely do this test effectively. In the 7 questions, some are relatively difficult at the end, but if students have a firm grasp of the knowledge and learn math creatively, they can completely do it.
Agreeing with the viewpoint, Mr. Lam Vu Cong Chinh, a teacher at Nguyen Du High School, said that the Math exam for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City is suitable for students' ability, and the questions are concise. Although the exam is relatively similar to previous years because the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has a roadmap to include practical problems in admissions, the problem data is concise, easy to understand, can differentiate students well, and is not too difficult because students are familiar with the elements of practical problems. The expected score range is 5.5-6, so the possibility of half of the candidates scoring below 5 points like in recent years will not happen.

Mr. Tuan Anh, Thu Duc High School, agreed that this year's Math test was easier than last year's and that Math scores would improve significantly. "The test has been reasonably adjusted in structure and content, in line with the 2018 Program and the city's 10th grade admission requirements. Reducing the number of questions and stabilizing the required knowledge content helps the test to be more balanced, while also creating opportunities for students to demonstrate their abilities. To get good scores, students not only need to have good math knowledge, know the formulas, and have standard calculation skills, but also need to know how to apply them to handle real-life situations," said Mr. Tuan Anh.
English: Average score is 7-8
English is the strength of students in Ho Chi Minh City. This year's English exam was considered by Mr. Phung Xuan Cuong, an English teacher at Vinh Vien High School, to be relatively more difficult than last year's. In particular, the multiple choice section with many questions in the form of conversations required candidates to understand the context correctly in order to choose the correct answer.
A notable new feature is the appearance of an exercise section requiring candidates to complete sentences based on information from a dictionary entry - replacing the phrase order assignment that was present in previous years. This is a highly applied question type, requiring candidates to have the ability to reason and apply language flexibly.
According to Mr. Cuong, with the clear level of differentiation, this year's score range is predicted to be concentrated at 7-8.
Ms. Huynh Thi Thanh Cat, Vinh Vien High School, also said that this year's English exam for 10th grade admission is relatively more difficult than last year. If in 2024 the exam was to arrange words into a meaningful sentence, and the phrases changed position, then in 2025 this part changed to a different form, almost only students with deep understanding and good knowledge knew how to apply the information in the given boxes to fill in.
In addition, in part V - word form, only good students and above can do it because there are some difficult words. Although students in Ho Chi Minh City have an advantage in foreign languages, with this test, Ms. Cat believes that most will get 7 points, and few will get 8 points or higher.
From the predicted score distribution of Math, Literature, and English, teachers believe that the entrance exam scores for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City this year will be high, and the standard score for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City will also increase.
