Thanks to his diligence in business, the life of Mr. Tran Van Thang's family in Hamlet 7, Xa Phien Commune has gradually improved significantly.

Previously, the security and order situation in Thuan Hung commune, now Xa Phien commune, was quite complicated. Many people who returned to their hometown after serving their sentences often felt inferior, lacked direction, and were easily lured into reoffending. From there, the commune police proactively proposed establishing a "Goodwill" club to accompany and support people who had violated the law to rebuild their lives.

To operate effectively, the Club's Board of Directors makes a list and directly encourages those who have completed their prison sentences to return to their locality to participate. At the same time, coordinate with departments, branches, and mass organizations of the commune and hamlet to accompany them, regularly visit their homes, grasp their thoughts, disseminate the law, and organize monthly activities.

During the meetings, based on the specific circumstances, the Club finds solutions to support employment, access to capital or appropriate career orientation. “We always remind and encourage those who have made mistakes to move towards a better future. If anyone has not participated in the activities or still feels inferior, we will go to their homes to encourage them, so that no one is left behind,” shared Mr. Vo Van Tre, Head of the “Huong Thien” Club.

With timely support and guidance, those who once made mistakes and are now members of the Club have gradually changed positively. They not only obey the law, participate in reporting crimes, and contribute to maintaining local security, but also support each other in production and life, building a strong neighborhood relationship.

Mr. Tran Van Thang in Hamlet 7, Xa Phien Commune, once committed the crime of “intentionally causing injury”. After completing his prison sentence and returning home, he lived a closed and self-conscious life. When he joined the Club, he was encouraged to leave the past behind and look to the future. In particular, he was given the opportunity to borrow 30 million VND to open a grocery store, make wooden cutting boards and drive a motorbike taxi. Currently, Mr. Thang is enthusiastic about doing business and taking care of his family. “I have learned how to face difficulties and not let old mistakes drag me down again,” Mr. Thang affirmed.

Mr. Huynh Van Sang in Hamlet 8, Xa Phien Commune, also served a 3-year prison sentence for theft. After completing his prison term and returning to his hometown, he felt inferior and lacked capital to do business, so his life was very difficult. Understanding his situation, the club created conditions for him to borrow capital and guided him to implement a model of growing water hyacinth to provide raw materials for weaving establishments. Thanks to his efforts, he has now expanded the water hyacinth growing area to 2 hectares, earning about 15 million VND per month.

The “Huong Thien” Club is not only a place for activities, but also adds hope to help those who have made mistakes to rebuild their lives and move towards a bright future. Since its establishment in 2012, the Club has coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to create conditions to help 15 cases borrow a total capital of more than 250 million VND to develop the economy .

Lieutenant Colonel Trinh Cong Linh, Deputy Chief of Xa Phien Commune Police, said that in the coming time, the locality will continue to review those who have served their sentences in the community or have just returned to the locality to mobilize them to join the "Goodness Club". At the same time, the Party Committee and the Commune People's Committee will continue to support capital, create jobs and promote emulation movements so that they have the opportunity to rebuild their lives.
