To strengthen the connection, create momentum for tourism development between Dien Bien province and the Northwestern provinces and other provinces and cities, soon turn tourism into a spearhead economic sector and contribute to enhancing the image, position and brand of Vietnamese tourism in general and Dien Bien province in particular, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism chose Dien Bien province as the host locality to organize the National Tourism Year 2024 with the theme "Glory of Dien Bien Phu - Endless experiences".
One of the important highlights of the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024 is the Opening Ceremony and the 2024 Hoa Ban Festival with the theme: "Returning to the Hoa Ban land" held on March 16 at 7-5 Square, Dien Bien Phu city.
The opening art program of the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien has the theme "Returning to the Ban Flower Land", introducing and leading viewers and tourists through special spaces, times, and destinations of Dien Bien province.
In particular, within the framework of the opening of the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien and the Ban Flower Festival 2024, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism presided over and coordinated with the People's Committee of Dien Bien district to introduce a new tourism product - the live show "Uva Legend", expected to bring visitors new, strange and attractive experiences.
Held in Uva village, Noong Luong commune, Dien Bien district, the show consists of 3 chapters: (Chapter I) Legend of Thai and Uva people, Ancient marks of Thai people; (Chapter II) Legend of Khan Pieu; (Chapter III) Rituals and culture - Humanistic, long-standing beauty, pride of Thai people and the connection between present and past. The show is associated with the natural landscape of Uva hot mineral water resort, Uva lotus lake.
The Organizing Committee hopes that the live show “Uva Legend” will soon become a unique tourism product of Dien Bien province, helping to connect the community and businesses to build an attractive, widespread, and cohesive product.
Within the framework of the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024, 169 response programs and events will take place; of which, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, ministries, departments and central branches will preside over the organization of 13 national programs and events; Dien Bien province will preside over the organization of 28 programs, events and activities; 128 response events and activities will be organized by 33 provinces and centrally-run cities.
