Due to the impact of storm No. 3, the company has given workers a day off since the afternoon of July 21 to avoid the storm. "We travel by company shuttle bus so the distance is quite long. Letting workers stay home to avoid the storm is necessary to ensure safety. This is also an opportunity for us to take storm prevention measures at home," said Mr. Phuong.

Viet Tri Garment Joint Stock Company in Bac Thanh Mien Commune also gave all employees a day off on September 22 due to the impact of storm No. 3 and they still received full pay. Ms. Vu Thi La, Chairwoman of the company's Union, said that the regulation on taking time off when natural disasters and storms and floods occur has been included in the collective labor agreement by the union. Letting employees move around in stormy weather would be very dangerous, especially for those working in low-lying areas prone to flooding.
"In the past few days, we have been regularly updating news about the developments of storm No. 3 to proactively arrange human resources to re-check the entire factory system, electricity, equipment, materials... The company has given recommendations, prevention and handling methods when storms and floods occur to protect the lives and health of union members and workers," Ms. La shared.
According to a survey by reporters, by the afternoon of July 21, many businesses in Hai Phong City had given employees time off to avoid the storm. Most of these units still strictly implemented the regimes and benefits for employees during the time off such as: diligence bonuses, full salary...
