The wife of a teacher working in the mountainous district of Dien Bien Dong, Dien Bien province, recently had an accident that resulted in her death when she fell into a nearly 200m deep abyss.
On the morning of September 3, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Dien Bien Province Police just brought a female victim from a nearly 200m deep abyss to shore. The victim was in a state of death. It is known that the victim is the wife of a teacher working at a local secondary school.
Previously, at 1:00 p.m. on September 2, Dien Bien Provincial Police received a report that an accident had occurred in Pu Nhi 1 village, Pu Nhi commune, Dien Bien Dong district, causing a person and a motorbike to fall into a deep ravine.
Colonel Lu Minh Phuong, Deputy Director of Dien Bien Provincial Police, commanded 30 officers and soldiers along with 3 specialized vehicles of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department to quickly arrive at the scene to carry out rescue work.
Due to the complex terrain, high risk of landslides, the accident scene is a deep cliff, difficult to access, so after nearly 5 hours of searching, the search team discovered and approached the victim and determined that the victim had died. The victim was identified as Ms. Quang Thi U (born in 1992), residing in Thanh Chan commune, Dien Bien district.
On the morning of September 3, speaking to reporters, a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Dien Bien Dong district said: "The victim was a grocery seller and was the wife of a teacher working at a middle school in the area. The Department also sent staff to visit, encourage and help the family with funeral arrangements."
The initial cause of the accident was determined to be a landslide and a narrow road. When the victim was driving a motorbike carrying a package behind him, both he and the motorbike fell into the abyss.
