Promoting Thailand-Vietnam relations under the concept of “1+1 = Unlimited” was the main theme of the Thailand-Vietnam Business Forum 2023 held on August 15 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The event was jointly organized by the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association, as part of a series of activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership (2013-2023). Attending the event were Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh, representatives of large Thai enterprises and corporations that have had many years of business cooperation in Vietnam, along with dozens of young business leaders and leaders of start-ups from both countries. Speaking to a VNA reporter in Bangkok, Mr. Nithi Patarachoke, Secretary General of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association, excitedly said that the theme of this year's forum emphasized cooperation and relationship building for the new generation of entrepreneurs and start-ups, facilitating the exchange of information and ideas and promoting technological and creative initiatives. Speaking at the event, Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, President of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association, emphasized the association’s intention to become a mechanism to promote growth and strengthen relations between Thailand and Vietnam. “Through this event, we hope to launch connectivity initiatives that benefit both countries, including business, cultural and people-to-people ties. Meanwhile, Chairman of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh emphasized that the 2023 Forum is a meeting place and information sharing place for businesses of the two countries with the aim of rapid and sustainable development, enhancing the competitiveness of business products in the context of globalization and international integration. Assessing the world economic situation, regional economy as well as each country in the process of recovery at different levels after the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh said that the forum with the theme "1+1 = Unlimited" is very suitable and meaningful for entrepreneurs, businesses, especially young businesses with innovative and creative thinking, startups of the two countries to have the opportunity to meet, contact, exchange information and experience to cooperate and develop together. The forum included various activities, including intergovernmental meetings, discussions, product exhibitions and presentations, brand promotions, business meetings, startup matching and networking events. Ms. Nguyen Quynh, CEO of the innovation connection platform Bambup, expressed her belief that Thailand, which has many similarities with the Vietnamese market, will be the first step for Vietnamese startups to learn about the market, find customers, and bring Vietnamese startups' solutions to the world.
Meanwhile, CEOs of some Vietnamese startups such as Smart Loyalty or MIGI expressed their hope that participating in the forum would be an opportunity for Vietnamese startups to introduce themselves and explore cooperation opportunities with Thai businesses, believing in development opportunities in Thailand due to its closeness and connection with Vietnam in terms of economic, cultural and human relations.
Organizers hope the forum will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations, promoting understanding and opening up broader business cooperation opportunities between Thailand and Vietnam.
