On October 29, the Beijing Xiangshan Forum, China's largest annual military diplomacy activity, opened.

According to Xinhua News Agency, this year's forum brought together 22 defense ministers and 14 foreign military commanders, the largest in both number and position since its first organization in 2006.

China hopes to use the forum to promote President Xi Jinping's vision of a safer world and bring developing countries closer together.

According to the agenda, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu is on the list of guests to speak on October 30. Reuters news agency reported that the US Department of Defense sent a delegation led by Mr. Xanthi Carras, Director of China Policy at the Office of the US Deputy Secretary of Defense. Several European countries also sent Defense Ministry delegations to attend this event.
