Fire prevention, firefighting and rescue drill at Hai Van Tunnel

The Hai Van Tunnel Operation Management Enterprise has just coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of the two localities of Da Nang - Thua Thien Hue to organize a firefighting and rescue drill at the Hai Van Tunnel at level 3D.

According to the hypothetical situation, more than 2,700 m from the southern tunnel entrance, in Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city, a 9-ton diesel truck had a tire blowout on the front passenger side. A 29-seat passenger van behind did not keep a safe distance and crashed into the truck, causing the truck's oil tank to rupture, causing a fire and traffic congestion. At the time of the incident, there were 2 people on the truck, of which the assistant was injured; the passenger van had 10 people, of which 3 were injured. Detecting the incident through the camera system, the Control Center issued an order to close 2 tunnel doors, temporarily suspend traffic, and deploy handling steps according to the 3D plan to regulate traffic to ensure access for specialized vehicles. Fire prevention and fighting and rescue forces deployed to extinguish the fire and rescue.

The drill aims to effectively implement the plan for handling fire and explosion incidents and rescue at Hai Van tunnel with the highest requirements, in order to absolutely protect the safety of key national security projects, serving economic and social development.
