This afternoon, November 23, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center officially announced the completion of the project to preserve and restore Thai Hoa Palace in Hue Imperial City and received the UNESCO recognition certificate of documentary heritage for the relief panels on nine bronze cauldrons (Cuu Dinh), a documentary heritage under the Memory of the World Program in the Asia- Pacific region.

To celebrate this important event, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center has organized a reenactment of the Nguyen Dynasty's court ceremony, with the participation of actors and artists playing the roles of mandarins, soldiers, and Nguyen Dynasty music.

Previously, Thai Hoa Palace had seriously degraded and was patchily maintained, not ensuring safety for the building and visitors.

Mr. Ho Huu Hanh, Director of Hue Monuments Restoration Joint Stock Company (the relic restoration unit), said that after 3 years of restoration, the project to preserve and restore the entire relic Thai Hoa Palace was completed in time for the celebration of Vietnam Heritage Day, November 23.
To "restore" the splendid golden beauty of Thai Hoa Palace, the palace symbolizing the authority of the Nguyen Dynasty in the ancient capital of Hue, over the past 3 years, hundreds of workers, carpenters, masons, gilding artists... and the technical, supervisory and construction teams have worked tirelessly with high responsibility and careful attention to every detail.

The project to preserve and restore the entire Thai Hoa Palace relic started on November 23, 2021, including the main items: repairing and reinforcing the foundation, restoring the tiled floor, Thanh stone steps, brick walls with original colors and other architectural details; repairing and restoring the wooden frame system, roof system, wooden wall system, wooden doors; repairing and restoring the throne, canopy and other furniture; reinforcing and adjusting the entire yard, retaining wall system, restoring railings and garden items, landscape, technical infrastructure...
The project to preserve and restore the Thai Hoa Palace relic in the Imperial City, Hue, has an investment of more than 128 billion VND including the central and local budgets and other mobilized sources.
