According to the original schedule, the U22 Vietnam team was scheduled to meet Laos on December 4 and Malaysia on December 11 at Tinsulanon Stadium (Songkhla). However, the change of venue forced the Organizing Committee to adjust the match time of Group B. The opening match of U22 Vietnam was moved up to December 3, one day earlier than the original plan, while the match against Malaysia remained on December 11.

The 33rd SEA Games Organizing Committee was forced to move the entire men's football group B to the capital Bangkok.
The semi-finals and finals will take place on December 15 and December 18 respectively. All new fixtures will be held at Rajamangala Stadium, the national stadium and one of the most modern venues in Thailand.
Along with the change in location, the men's football event of the 33rd SEA Games also recorded a notable change related to the number of participating teams. On November 27, the Cambodian Olympic Committee announced the withdrawal of 8 competitions, including men's and women's football. This decision left Group A, which included Thailand, Timor-Leste and Cambodia, with only two teams.
Faced with this change, the Organizing Committee has agreed to restructure the groups, planning to move U22 Singapore from Group C to Group A to replace Cambodia. With this plan, men's football will have a total of 9 participating teams and will be divided into three groups, each group has 3 teams. Specifically: Group A includes Thailand, Timor-Leste, Singapore; Group B includes Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos and Group C includes Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines.
Regarding preparations, the U22 Vietnam team will depart from Ho Chi Minh City for Bangkok on the morning of December 1. The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has also proactively deployed early logistics work to ensure the team has the best conditions before entering the competition.
The advance team of the Vietnam Football Federation will be in Bangkok from November 30 to directly inspect the hotel, training ground, competition ground and related professional and logistical conditions, thereby providing maximum support to Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team in their journey to conquer the 33rd SEA Games.
