Evaluating the opponents in Group B of the men's football event at the 33rd SEA Games, coach Kim Sang-sik said the first goal is to qualify for the group stage.

Mr. Kim commented that Laos is not considered as highly as Malaysia, but U22 Vietnam still has to prepare carefully for the opening match to aim for the best result, even try to score many goals to create an advantage. Malaysia is considered a more difficult "test", requiring detailed analysis and appropriate adjustments.

Regarding the opening match against U22 Laos, coach Kim Sang-sik affirmed that this was an important first step: "The first match is always difficult. We have analyzed carefully to build the most effective attack plan, trying to score many goals to create an advantage right from the start."
When asked about the target of winning the gold medal, the Korean coach admitted that he felt both nervous and excited as he prepared to enter his first SEA Games as head coach. “The players and I will try our best to achieve the best results,” coach Kim Sang-sik emphasized.

This afternoon's training session saw the team gather all 28 players, with the participation of the trio Dinh Bac, Minh Phuc and Ly Duc after completing the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26 competition in the colors of Hanoi Police Club.
The Korean coach also shared that reducing the list to 23 players was a very difficult challenge.
“I lost sleep over having to make a choice. All the players are training and living professionally, but I have to make the best decision for the team,” said Mr. Kim.
According to the plan, after the training session tomorrow afternoon, November 29, Coach Kim Sang-sik will finalize the official list of 23 players. The whole team will move to Bangkok on the morning of December 1 to begin their journey to compete at the 33rd SEA Games.
