On the morning of October 15, Nam Quang Tri Eye Hospital announced that it had just unexpectedly rewarded nurse Le Thi Thu Ha (examination department) for her timely action in saving the life of a man who had a cardiac arrest right in the hospital lobby.
At around 8:41 a.m. on October 14, Mr. NTK (72 years old, residing in Dong Ha ward) brought his family member to the outpatient department for a medical examination. While waiting, Mr. K. suddenly collapsed and suffered cardiac arrest.
Detecting the unusual situation, nurse Le Thi Thu Ha immediately activated the emergency alarm procedure and, together with her colleagues, performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the patient.
Thanks to the quick reflexes and solid professional skills of the medical staff, Mr. K. received timely first aid, his heart started beating again before being transferred to the intensive care unit at a general hospital. It is known that Mr. K. had a history of two transient strokes.
Specialist II Doctor Bui Thi Van Anh - Director of Nam Quang Tri Eye Hospital - said the unexpected reward was to recognize the dedication and professional response of nurse Ha. "Every decisive moment of medical staff can save a life. This is an example that deserves to be spread," Ms. Van Anh said.
