Accordingly, on the afternoon of June 2, candidates took the 60-minute English exam for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year. By the evening of the same day, information appeared on social networks that the English exam was leaked, along with a copy of the exam with similar content.
On the morning of June 4, the Department of Education and Training of Kon Tum province worked with teachers to create English exam questions.
At the meeting, Ms. PTH (teacher at Nguyen Hue Secondary School, Kon Tum City, one of the people who created the exam questions) admitted that a 9th grade student at Nguyen Hue Secondary School, who was taking extra classes at Ms. H's home, took a photo of the exam questions from her home printer.
Ms. H. admitted her mistake in letting students take photos of draft exam questions and affirmed that she did not copy or take photos of the questions for students herself.
Based on the above results, the Department of Education and Training requested the Kon Tum Provincial Police to investigate and clarify the individuals involved and the scope of influence of the exam leak. From there, the Department of Education and Training will have a basis to advise the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee to consider and adjust the 10th grade enrollment plan for the 2023-2024 school year accordingly.
The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year in Kon Tum province has 6,659 candidates taking the exam, with 3 subjects: Literature, Math, and English. Students applying to Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for the Gifted will have to take an additional specialized subject.
