Dinh Bac returns, Bui Alex is called up to U23 Vietnam to attend Southeast Asian tournament

Bui Alex and Nguyen Dinh Bac are two notable strikers named by coach Kim Sang Sik in the U23 Vietnam squad, aiming to defend the title of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.

On the afternoon of June 20, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced the list of 35 U23 Vietnam players in the third training session of 2025. This is a training session to prepare for the 2025 U23 Southeast Asian Finals taking place in Indonesia next July.

This time, the list is mostly familiar faces who participated in the two previous gatherings under the guidance of acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh, such as Viktor Le, Nguyen Hong Phuc, Nguyen Nhat Minh, Nguyen Van Truong or Nguyen Quoc Viet. Besides, there are faces called up to the national team such as Pham Ly Duc and Khuat Van Khang.

Notably, in the U23 Vietnam squad this time, in addition to Bui Alex being called up again, there is also the return of Nguyen Dinh Bac after injury.

Bui Alex is a new recruit in the June training session of U23 Vietnam, and has performed quite impressively. Meanwhile, Dinh Bac is a familiar face in Vietnamese football in the past 2 years, having scored for the Vietnamese team at the 2023 Asian Cup.

The return of Dinh Bac and the presence of Bui Alex promise to fill the position left by Bui Vi Hao due to injury in the U23 Vietnam attack line.

According to plan, the Vietnam U23 team will gather again on June 26 in Ba Ria - Vung Tau .

The team will train here until July 14 before leaving for Indonesia to participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, which will take place from July 15 to 29. In the group stage, U23 Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22.
