Illegal dumping causes environmental pollution in Nghi Xuan

The situation of littering indiscriminately and in the wrong places in some localities in Nghi Xuan ( Ha Tinh ) is causing serious environmental pollution and traffic obstruction.

At the garbage dump on the inter-village road, through Hong Tien village (Xuan Giang commune), garbage is spilled onto the road, spreading a foul smell throughout the area.

Although the Xuan Giang commune government has arranged a garbage collection site for 3 villages: Hong Tien, Lam Thuy, Hong Khanh, instead of dumping garbage in the right place, people "conveniently" throw garbage right outside the collection site.

When passing through this route, people have to cover their noses because of the stench coming from the old piles of garbage.

Mr. Tran Van Thanh (Hong Tien village) was upset: Due to the lack of awareness of the people, dumping garbage outside the collection area has caused serious environmental pollution. In this hot season, the south wind blows strongly, the stench is very unpleasant. This situation has existed for quite a long time but has not been collected and treated.

Similarly, on the inter-commune road in Yen Loi village (Xuan Yen commune), there are also unwanted garbage dumps... The garbage overflows, blocking more than half of the road, obstructing traffic.

It is known that many people often take advantage of the night to dump garbage in deserted roadside areas with few residents. Due to the large amount of garbage, all kinds of garbage from household waste, animal carcasses..., the piles up and pollute the environment. Some households near the landfill have continuously petitioned the authorities, but the illegal dumping of garbage has not been handled.

The authorities of Xuan Giang and Xuan Yen communes need to promptly organize the collection, transportation and treatment of old garbage piles; at the same time, step up propaganda work, arrange patrol and control forces to detect and strictly handle cases of dumping garbage in the wrong places.
