The Mongolian delegation of retired diplomats includes veteran diplomats who have held ambassadorial positions in many countries, including those who have studied, worked or visited Vietnam many times.
At the reception, Ambassador Jigjee Sereejav said: Within the framework of the visit, the delegation signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Retirees Club of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam. This activity demonstrates the desire to strengthen people-to-people cooperation based on the foundation of the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Mongolia.
The members of the Delegation also shared many memories associated with the country and people of Vietnam, and expressed deep impressions of Vietnam's rapid and comprehensive development in recent years.

Speaking at the meeting, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Phan Anh Son expressed his pleasure to meet again with close friends of Vietnam. He emphasized that in 1955, in the context of Vietnam having just signed the Geneva Agreement and the country being temporarily divided, President Ho Chi Minh decided to officially visit Mongolia. This visit laid the foundation for the friendly relations between the two countries, especially between the two peoples. 2025 marks the 70th anniversary of this historic visit and the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolia - Vietnam Friendship Association.
Chairman Phan Anh Son said that recently, from April 29 to May 1, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee invite Ms. B. Gantuya, Vice President of the Mongolia - Vietnam Friendship Association, to attend activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day in Ho Chi Minh City. Ms. Gantuya is the granddaughter of the late Lieutenant General, Hero of Mongolian Labor J. Jamian - Chairman of the Mongolian Committee to Support Vietnam, the first Chairman and then Honorary Chairman of the Mongolia - Vietnam Friendship Association, Honorary Citizen of Ho Chi Minh City, who had the honor to meet President Ho Chi Minh 7 times. This is a gratitude activity, expressing Vietnam's respect and gratitude for the support, assistance and companionship of international friends in the cause of national liberation and national construction of the Vietnamese people.
Through the delegation, Chairman Phan Anh Son respectfully sent the thanks of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations in particular and the Vietnamese people in general to the Mongolian Committee for Supporting Vietnam and the Mongolia - Vietnam Friendship Association for their valuable sentiments and support for Vietnam in the past time.
On this occasion, Mr. Phan Anh Son proposed a number of initiatives to strengthen people-to-people cooperation between Vietnam and Mongolia as follows:
Firstly, the Vietnam - Mongolia Friendship Association and the Mongolia - Vietnam Friendship Association jointly organized online seminars and talks to review the history of solidarity between the two peoples, especially during the period when Vietnam fought for independence and developed after the war.
Second, the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pension Board promotes its experience and closely coordinates with the Mongolia-Vietnam Friendship Association to act as a bridge for people-to-people exchange activities between the two countries.
Third, organize delegations of Mongolian scholars, lecturers and students to Vietnam for academic exchanges, to enhance understanding and cooperation. The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations is ready to act as a focal point to connect with domestic partners to facilitate these activities.

Fourth, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations is ready to coordinate with universities to conduct online lectures introducing the country, people, foreign policy and development orientation of Vietnam, and Vietnam-Mongolia relations. Mongolia can also send experts and lecturers to participate in similar programs introducing Mongolia in Vietnam.
Ambassador Jigjee Sereejav highly appreciated the role and contributions of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-Mongolia Friendship Association in promoting the friendship between the two peoples. He welcomed the proposals of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and expressed his wish to enhance people-to-people exchanges, encourage people of the two countries to contact and learn about each other through cultural and tourism activities...
