EVN delegation worked with Quang Ninh Thermal Power on electricity production in the 2025 dry season

On the afternoon of February 7, a working delegation of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) led by Mr. Dang Huy Cuong, member of the Board of Directors of the Group, chaired a working session with Quang Ninh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company on operation, maintenance, repair and fuel preparation for the dry season of 2025.

Reporting to the working group, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company, said: In 2024, Quang Ninh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company has improved the reliability of the unit equipment, the number of incidents is low and there are no subjective incidents in operation. In April 2024, the plant achieved a production output of 807.3 million kWh, the highest output milestone in a month since the operation of the units. In December 2024, the Company maintained 100% operation of all 4 units.

For 2025, the Company has been assigned by the Electricity Regulatory Authority to produce nearly 7.8 billion kWh of electricity. With this level of electricity output, the Company has developed a monthly operation plan and implemented many synchronous solutions to ensure that the generators reach the most optimal capacity. Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Dang Huy Cuong, Member of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Electricity Group, acknowledged and commended the achievements of Quang Ninh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company in 2024 and the preparation for the dry season in 2025. However, the increasing demand for electricity consumption along with unpredictable climate changes... are significant challenges in the Group's electricity supply in 2025, so the Company needs to ensure the highest safety and readiness for the entire system of main and auxiliary equipment, strengthen monitoring and develop backup plans to handle incidents.

Also at the working session, the Group's leaders and professional departments gave many opinions on solutions to upgrade the system to meet environmental protection standards during the production process, as well as short-term and long-term upgrading and renovation solutions, ensuring capacity and electricity output in the dry season of 2025.

Previously, on February 6, Quang Ninh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company coordinated with Dong Bac 1 Power Transmission Company to organize the launching ceremony to maintain equipment for safe and reliable power generation and transmission in 2025.

Within the framework of the Launching Ceremony, the leaders of the two units signed a coordination regulation to ensure the safe operation of factory equipment and the transmission grid, a premise for the successful implementation of the 2025 production and business plan of the two units; at the same time, it is also the beginning of a year of safe, continuous and stable operation to effectively serve the economic and social development of the country. Immediately after the Launching Ceremony, the production teams carried out the cleaning and maintenance work of the 500 kV Station 271 line at Quang Ninh Thermal Power Plant.
