BHG - On the afternoon of March 6, the Military Region 2 delegation led by Lieutenant General Pham Hong Chuong, Commander of Military Region 2, and its members attended the flag-raising ceremony at Lung Cu National Flagpole. Also attending were comrade Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial Military Command, Provincial Border Guard Command; and leaders of Dong Van district.

At Lung Cu National Flagpole located on the top of Dragon Mountain, the Military Region 2 delegation and delegates sang the National Anthem, expressing national pride and love for the homeland and country. Lung Cu National Flagpole was built at the northernmost border of the Fatherland, with an altitude of nearly 1,500m above sea level, and is a national historical relic. Throughout history, this location marks the sacred and inviolable sovereignty of the Fatherland of Vietnam. The 54m² red flag with a yellow star is a symbol of the great unity of 54 ethnic groups, expressing the steadfast and indomitable spirit in building and defending the Fatherland, and is the pride of every Vietnamese person.

Next, Lieutenant General Pham Hong Chuong, Commander of Military Region 2; Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son and the working delegation visited the northernmost point in Lung Cu commune and presented gifts to encourage officers and soldiers of Lung Cu Border Post.

Lieutenant General Pham Hong Chuong and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Party Committee, government, army and people of the border communes of Dong Van district in recent years. They hoped that the Party Committee, local government, army and people in the border area of the Fatherland would always be united and united; protect the border and landmarks well, ensure a peaceful , friendly and mutually developing border.
