On December 17, a working delegation of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee led by Mr. Rah Lan Chung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee visited and worked at Trung Nguyen Beef Breeding Company Limited.
Overview of the working session of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee delegation with the leaders of THACO and THACO AGRI
Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Huu Que - Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Departments: Planning & Investment; Agriculture & Rural Development; Natural Resources & Environment and the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, People's Committee of Chu Prong District; representatives of the leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Committee of Phu Thien District. Mr. Tran Ba Duong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of THACO and leaders of THACO AGRI, Trung Nguyen Beef Breeding Company Limited welcomed the delegation.
Working with the delegation, representatives of THACO AGRI reported on the strategy and investment plan for agricultural projects in Gia Lai province. According to the report, Trung Nguyen Cattle Breeding Company Limited was established in 2020, aiming to pilot the project "Raising semi-grazed breeding cows and beef cattle" on an area of 155 hectares in Ia Puch commune, Chu Prong district, with a herd size of up to 25,000 cows. The project was approved by the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee on January 21, 2021, with a total investment capital of more than VND 1,162 billion, with a breeding capacity of 100,000 cows/year.
From the initial success, Trung Nguyen Beef Breeding Company Limited continued to propose the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee to approve the adjustment policy to the project "Planting forestry trees combined with raising cattle" with the objectives of: planting forestry trees intercropped with grass for animal feed; raising beef cattle for semi-grazing, and concentrated fattening of beef cattle. This project has a scale of over 1,936 hectares, of which the area of planting forestry trees intercropped with grass is over 1,768 hectares, herd size: 51,000 cattle; raising capacity: 110,000 cattle/year; area for building barns and auxiliary works is over 168 hectares. The total investment capital of the project is expected to be 4,380 billion VND. Currently, the Company is creating jobs for more than 1,100 workers, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
At the meeting, the leaders of THACO AGRI and Trung Nguyen Beef Breeding Company Limited proposed to the People's Committee of Gia Lai province to approve the adjustment of land use planning of Chu Prong district until 2030 and land use plan; approve the policy to adjust the project "Planting forestry trees combined with cattle breeding" in Ia Puch commune, Chu Prong district; approve Trung Nguyen Beef Breeding Company Limited to apply for changing the land use purpose to concentrated livestock land with an area of over 168 hectares and some other related contents.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Rah Lan Chung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee emphasized: "The province welcomes THACO AGRI for implementing large-scale projects applying high-tech agriculture, in line with the development orientation and planning of the province. In the coming time, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee will direct departments and branches to coordinate with THACO AGRI to find solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, and soon put the project into operation. This is not only an economic project but also has great significance for national defense".
The working session affirmed the close cooperation between local authorities and THACO AGRI, promising to bring positive results to Gia Lai province in the coming time.
