On the morning of May 31, the Vietnamese Paralympic Sports Delegation officially departed to attend the 12th Southeast Asian Para Games (ASEAN Para Games 12). The farewell ceremony took place solemnly at Noi Bai International Airport.
The Vietnam Paralympic Sports Delegation consists of 164 members, including 21 coaches and 127 athletes, competing in 8 out of 14 sports at the 12th ASEAN Para Games, namely: Athletics, Swimming, Weightlifting, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Judo and Boccia.

Speaking at the farewell ceremony, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training Nguyen Hong Minh, Head of the Vietnamese Disabled Sports Delegation attending the 12th ASEAN Para Games, said: After the success of the Vietnamese Sports delegation winning the overall first place at the 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnamese Disabled Sports Delegation has been given strong motivation to strive for the best results.
Deputy General Director Nguyen Hong Minh emphasized: ASEAN Para Games is a humanitarian sporting event that aims to promote good relations, solidarity, friendship and mutual understanding among ASEAN countries. Therefore, in addition to the determination to compete for the best results, athletes and delegation officials are also ambassadors to convey to international friends the beautiful image of the country and people of Vietnam as peaceful , friendly, friendly but resilient and with a strong will to rise up.
Over the years, disabled sports have contributed significantly to the golden record of Vietnamese sports. Many disabled athletes have been honored in regional and international sports arenas.
The 12th ASEAN Para Games hosted by Cambodia took place from June 3 to 9 with about 1,450 athletes from 11 countries participating; competing in more than 400 events in 14 sports including: Athletics, Badminton, Boccia (colored ball), Chess, 5-a-side football, 7-a-side football, Blind basketball, Judo, Weightlifting, Swimming, Men's and Women's Table Tennis, Men's and Women's Sitting Volleyball, Men's and Women's Wheelchair Basketball and E-sports.
