With the achievement of reaching the top 5 in the 2024 Asian U.20 Volleyball Championship, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has for the first time qualified to participate in the 2025 World U.21 Volleyball Championship, which will take place from August 7 to 17 in Surabaya (Indonesia). The tournament attracts 24 participating teams, divided into 4 groups (each group has 6 teams), playing a round-robin to select the 4 teams with the highest achievements from the 4 groups to enter the round of 16.

According to the draw results, the U.21 Vietnam team is in Group A with host Indonesia, Argentina, Serbia, Puerto Rico, and Canada. In this group, coach Nguyen Trong Linh commented that the U.21 Serbia, U.21 Argentina, and U.21 Canada teams are very strong. Therefore, the U.21 Vietnam team is determined to compete with two "equal" opponents, the U.21 Indonesia and U.21 Puerto Rico teams. If they defeat these two opponents, coach Nguyen Trong Linh and his team will likely achieve their goal of reaching the round of 16. However, this is not an easy task because the U.21 Indonesia team has prepared well and has the advantage of playing at home.
