Independence Day activities in 2025: Taking place from August 30 - September 2

(laichau.gov.vn) This afternoon (August 5th), the Organizing Committee for the 2025 Independence Day Celebration (Organizing Committee) held a meeting to assign tasks to its members and implement activities related to the 2025 Independence Day celebration. Mr. Tong Thanh Hai, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee, chaired the meeting.

The 2025 Independence Day celebration will be on a provincial scale, lasting four days (from August 30th to September 2nd, 2025), and will take place in Than Uyên commune. The directing agency is the Lai Châu Provincial People's Committee. The implementing agency is the Than Uyên Commune People's Committee. Coordinating agencies include the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; provincial departments and agencies; the People's Committees of communes and wards; and relevant organizations and individuals.

At the meeting, delegates heard the assignment of tasks to the members of the Organizing Committee for the 2025 Independence Day celebration.

The Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism , and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, presented the assignment of tasks to the members of the Organizing Committee for the 2025 Independence Day celebration.

During the meeting, delegates heard a report from the leaders of Than Uyên commune on the implementation of activities for the 2025 Independence Day celebrations. According to the report, as of the time of the report, Than Uyên commune had issued Plan No. 346/KH-UBND, dated July 30, 2025, on organizing Independence Day celebrations and the Than Uyên Commune Cultural and Sports Festival in 2025. Simultaneously, the commune directed relevant agencies to draft the following documents: Decision on the establishment of subcommittees; Decision on the establishment of the Judging Panel and Referee Team; Decision on the recruitment of performers; Regulations and Rules for cultural and sports activities within the framework of the event...

Comrade Chairman of Than Uyên Commune People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Organizing Committee, presented the report at the meeting.

In addition, Than Uyên commune has agreed with the organizing units of the sports events on the time and location of the event, selecting a race route that meets the technical and safety requirements (KOMOMO Than Uyên International Running Race 2025, Motorized Paragliding). Simultaneously, they are implementing renovation and repair of the commune's stadium; directing the strengthening of propaganda work through the commune's radio and television systems, the commune's website, and social media platforms (Facebook, Zalo, Youtube, Fanpage)...

In the coming period, Than Uyên commune will continue to develop a plan to coordinate the organization of the KOMOMO Than Uyên 2025 International Running Race and Motorized Paragliding; mobilize the public to participate in the solidarity Xòe dance performance "Brilliant Colors of Than Uyên - Lai Châu " (approximately 2,000 people) and the flag-raising ceremony (approximately over 1,000 people). Develop a script for the Art Program and Xòe dance performance, organize rehearsals, and schedule rehearsals from August 20, 2025; intensify propaganda before, during, and after the Independence Day event commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). Coordinate with other communes to mobilize artisans, performers, and athletes to participate in cultural and sports activities at the event according to the plan; and promote activities at the cultural spaces of ethnic groups. Concluding the meeting, Comrade Tong Thanh Hai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee for the 2025 Independence Day Celebration - shared the difficulties faced by Than Uyen commune and related communes in organizing the 2025 Independence Day Celebration. He emphasized that the organization of the Independence Day Celebration must be people-oriented, with the people at the center; people should feel happier and more proud of their national and local traditions. The event should aim to educate the younger generation about patriotism and national pride.

To ensure the success of the 2025 Independence Day celebration, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that departments, agencies, and localities enhance their responsibility in organizing and implementing the event; ensuring food safety, security, and traffic safety; and ensuring uninterrupted internet access. Preparation must be thorough, with each activity having a specific and detailed plan, clear task assignments; managing drone flight operations in accordance with regulations; and prioritizing the mobilization of human resources for on-site activities. The race must have a clear and publicly available map, with guides and medical personnel on each section of the route to ensure the safety and security of the athletes. Good preparation is needed for the exhibition space showcasing OCOP products and some characteristic agricultural products and cuisine.
