Proactively restructure the supply chain
At the meeting, representatives of enterprises reported an overview of their operations in recent times. Enterprises also hope that the reciprocal tariff negotiations between Vietnam and the US will achieve good results as soon as possible; at the same time, they hope that State agencies will have appropriate support policies.
In the context of complicated tariff developments, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Linh - CEO of SCAVI Group informed that this company continuously updates information and believes that in the coming time, Vietnam will continue to have favorable trade conditions, thereby opening up sustainable growth opportunities for the textile and garment industry - an industry with great strength in Vietnam.
From a business perspective, SCAVI is also implementing a number of specific solutions, including researching international trade information to design more effective trading models.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Linh, the current issue is not only cost competition, but also production organization capacity, compliance with international standards, and supply chain flexibility. Vietnam has many favorable conditions to become a new production center in the region.

“In the coming time, we are also planning to expand investment in key markets such as Europe. In addition, a number of projects to expand production and innovate technology are being researched and prepared for implementation,” said Mr. Nguyen Xuan Linh.
In terms of international trade strategy, the current situation shows that this is not simply a normal import-export story, but an issue related to global strategy, comparative advantage and the trend of reshaping the supply chain. Technical barriers and tariff barriers are increasing pressure on export enterprises, including the textile and garment sector.
According to Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong, Vietnam in general and Hue in particular need to reposition their role in the global value chain. Therefore, enterprises like SCAVI need to proactively restructure the supply chain, diversify markets, and recalculate production and consumption models.
“Despite the fluctuations, the textile and garment industry is still in great demand. The important thing is to adapt quickly, be creative in approaching the market and be flexible in the production organization model. SCAVI's strategies related to shifting investment, finding two-way trade cooperation solutions, and minimizing tariff risks are very encouraging,” emphasized Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong.
Complete procedures, speed up project progress
Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong acknowledged the efforts and highly appreciated the proactive spirit of enterprises in the current period, especially when the production and consumption of goods is facing many difficulties due to changes in tariff barriers of the US market.
Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong requested Kanglongda Company to complete the procedures to officially start production. |
Regarding Kanglongda Company, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong requested that this unit complete all procedures to officially start production; adjusting the structure of products and consumption markets is reasonable to avoid risks. At the same time, he emphasized that authorities at all levels will accompany enterprises in the production and business process in the coming time.
“I appreciate the companies’ strategy of adjusting their export markets, especially in finding new partners and expanding distribution channels in other potential markets besides the United States. However, the company also needs to consider a methodical and sustainable domestic market development plan – this is a direction that helps businesses be more proactive and reduce their dependence on any market. The city is committed to accompanying businesses, especially in the current volatile context,” emphasized Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong.
Regarding the progress of the project to invest in expanding the new production line of the sand processing plant, high-quality low-iron quartz HPS with a main product capacity of 440,000 tons/year, the report of Premium Silica Hue Co., Ltd. shows that the project has completed most of the legal procedures. The construction of the factory started in November 2024 and is in the process of synchronously constructing items such as workshops, transformer stations, wastewater treatment systems, internal roads and installation of machinery and equipment. It is expected that the entire factory will be completed and put into operation in the third quarter of 2025.
Premium Silica's high-quality quartz sand processing project is expected to create a new value chain for the materials industry in Hue, contributing to promoting the local economic restructuring towards high technology and sustainability.
Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized the importance of speeding up the construction progress of this project, contributing to increasing the capacity and output of the factory, considering this a place to provide high-quality raw materials for domestic factories to deeply process diverse products; effectively using resources.
“Relevant units need to closely follow the set progress, while focusing on deep processing and increasing product value. In addition, enterprises and relevant units should pay attention to closely coordinating with local authorities in site clearance for the second phase of the project,” Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong directed.
