Nearly 80,000 visitors came to the fair to browse and shop.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association Cao Thi Ngoc Lan emphasized that, in order to support Vietnamese tourism businesses in shifting their business direction after the Covid-19 pandemic, and to implement the policies of the United Nations, the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), and the Government in developing the economy towards green growth for sustainable development, the Vietnam Tourism Association organized the Vietnam International Tourism Fair - VITM Hanoi 2024 with the theme "Vietnam Tourism – Green Transformation for Sustainable Development".
With the participation of tourism promotion agencies and businesses from 55 provinces and cities of Vietnam, and 16 countries and territories, with 480 booths and over 700 exhibitors, the Fair attracted nearly 4,000 Vietnamese and international tourism businesses to conduct business with more than 12,000 business-to-business (B-to-B) meetings held alongside the fair; more than 10,000 tours and promotional tourism products were offered at the Fair.
"It is estimated that nearly 80,000 visitors came to visit and shop at the Fair. VITM Hanoi 2024 continues to affirm its brand and position as a leading tourism promotion event of Vietnam," Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Lan affirmed.

According to the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association, during the four days of the VITM Hanoi 2024 Fair (from April 11th to 14th), 23 tourism promotion events and activities were organized. Meetings between businesses, between businesses and tourists, and activities by Vietnamese and international tourism promotion agencies created a vibrant atmosphere and a strong momentum among tourism businesses nationwide, significantly contributing to the recovery, acceleration, and rapid and effective development of Vietnamese tourism.
With the theme "Vietnam Tourism - Green Transformation for Sustainable Development," the National Tourism Forum, held on the morning of April 12, 2024, attracted a large number of state management agencies in tourism from the central to local levels, researchers, tourism experts, and leaders of tourism businesses.
The forum concretized the content and requirements of green transformation in the tourism sector; proposed effective linkage and coordination mechanisms to mobilize resources for green transformation in tourism; and realized initiatives to access and expand markets for green tourism business models through specific activities.
The fair encouraged tourism businesses to innovate their activities in order to build green destinations and green products, promote training of workers with knowledge of green tourism, and contribute to enhancing the image of Vietnamese tourism as a green and circular economy sector.

The VITA Awards 2024 ceremony honored outstanding businesses and individuals with two special Contribution Awards recognizing outstanding individuals who have supported the Vietnam Tourism Association in successfully organizing national-level events and activities, contributing to the development of Vietnamese tourism... Simultaneously, it honored 170 organizations and businesses, and 112 individuals who are members of the Vietnam Tourism Association, the tourism associations of 58 provinces and cities, and the Mekong Delta Tourism Association.
"The awards ceremony has truly become a celebration for the tourism business community, encouraging businesses to promote emulation, innovation, and creativity, and to actively contribute to the recovery and development of Vietnamese tourism," Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Lan expressed.
50 participating units at the fair achieved revenue of over 180 billion VND.
According to a quick survey of 50 participating units at the Fair, revenue from tourism product sales over the four days reached more than 180 billion VND; 92% of businesses achieved their targets, with 5.4% exceeding expectations; 91.9% were satisfied with the activities at the Fair. In addition, 25% wanted to change their booth location for better convenience; 81% of units committed to participating in VITM Hanoi 2025.
Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu, Marketing and Communications Director of Vietluxtour Travel, said that after 4 days of participating in the fair, many visitors requested advice on tours, visas, and air tickets, and proceeded to purchase and deposit at the booth. The tours were offered at good promotional prices, with discounts of up to 25% compared to the normal price.
To achieve this promotional level, Vietluxtour Travel had planned and worked with service providers well in advance to secure a large quantity of tickets at good prices. Combined with the special offers the company provided to customers at the VITM Hanoi 2024 trade fair, this resulted in the best possible prices for high-quality tour packages with 3-5 star service standards.
With domestic tours, Free & Easy tours, and Asian tours being the most popular among tourists, we have increased the number of tickets available for Phu Quoc, Thailand, and Taiwan.
Outbound tours show promising signs in reaching partners and customers from international markets, targeting key markets in Europe, Northeast Asia, Australia, the US, India, etc.
"The unit has planned to work with approximately 50 pre-confirmed appointments, not including walk-in clients. Of these, about 40% of the units and partners have planned itineraries for on-site product and service surveys to facilitate framework contracts," said Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu.

Ms. Doan Thi Thanh Tra, Marketing and Communications Director of Saigontourist Travel Company, said that at the fair, the company applied many special promotions on a series of 120 domestic and international tours. Discounts of up to 45% were applied to domestic tours. For international tours, a discount of 10 million VND was applied to the 11-day Brazil-Argentina long-distance tour.
"Specifically, we are offering charter flights with discounts of up to 2 million VND to South Korea - Jeju, Japan to see cherry blossoms, and a series of tours to China including flights to Zhangjiajie - Fenghuang Ancient Town..."
"After participating in VITM Hanoi 2024, we attracted more than 500 customers who registered to buy tours and combo packages, generating revenue of 14 billion VND. We have already closed bookings for all-inclusive tours during the April 30th holiday, with a total of 28,000 customers to be served, including both domestic and international tourists," said Ms. Doan Thi Thanh Tra.
At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates to partner organizations; large-scale booths; booths with impressive designs; and booths that organized unique and attractive activities for visitors.
