According to BGR , the iPhone Vision concept presented by designer De Rosa is not a foldable screen model, but rather directly linked to Apple's recently announced Vision Pro "space computer." It also offers a look reminiscent of a combination of the original iPhone and the iPhone X, which Apple should consider if it wants to create a more innovative product in the future.
The iPhone Vision was conceived based on the imagination of Antonio De Rosa.
The iPhone Vision stands out with its full-screen design, featuring "waterfall" curved edges. The curved edges are perhaps its worst aspect, as a phone with curved edges is more prone to accidental damage. However, the symmetrical curvature of the front and back makes it easier to hold compared to regular iPhones with flat surfaces.
Even more interesting is that the Liquid Lens camera on the back is used to replace the main and ultrawide cameras. This concept also includes a secondary periscope lens for better zoom.
On the back, there are two other unique design elements. First, the secondary screen provides quick access to notifications when the phone is lying face down – a handy feature for many users, especially given the protruding camera module. Second, the designers placed a raised edge at the bottom of the back to balance it with the top, helping the iPhone lie flatter when face up, and it also serves to support spatial audio.
The designer envisions this phone running on the same chips as the Vision Pro space computer: the M2 and R1, where the R1 handles all the sensor input on the Vision Pro and may not be necessary on the iPhone. But if Liquid Lens allows users to take 3D photos and videos like Vision, the device might need the R1 chip. As for the M2, that chip might not be efficient for the iPhone's battery.
Other details of the iPhone Vision include a USB-C connector and 30W MagSafe charging. Additionally, the phone appears to have solid-state buttons, and the power button has been moved to the top of the screen. Finally, there is no SIM card slot on this phone, as Apple has switched to eSIM.
The specific features described in the iPhone Vision design concept are as follows:
The designer also envisioned a price for the iPhone Vision. The phone would have a starting price of $1,599, which is even more expensive than the expected starting price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max at $1,299. Apple is reportedly developing a high-end iPhone called the iPhone Ultra in the future, and the iPhone Vision concept seems to be that product.
