Besides familiar destinations like Ban Gioc Waterfall and Mount Mat Than, the Ba Quang burnt grass hill (Vinh Quy) is also a popular tourist attraction in Cao Bang. Photo: Provided by the artist. Located between Khum Din and Bac Vong hamlets in Vinh Quy commune, Ha Lang district, Cao Bang province, the vast stretches of golden-orange rice paddies, both pristine and romantic, attract countless tourists and photography enthusiasts from October to January of the following year. (Photo: Provided by the author) Mr. Nguyen Huu Minh (27 years old, Hanoi ) accidentally discovered this place on social media and immediately added it to his itinerary for his trip to Cao Bang because he was so impressed. Surrounded by hills covered in burnt grass, it created an incredibly majestic scene. The setting sun's rays combined with the burnt grass left me completely overwhelmed,” the male tourist shared. While the Phoenix Hill (Quang Ninh) is distinguished by its scattered patches of lush green dwarf pine trees, the Ba Quang Hill is almost entirely covered in a golden-orange hue amidst rolling hills. Here, visitors can enjoy the scenery, take artistic photos, or organize camping trips. Photo: Provided by the artist. When Minh arrived in Ba Quang at the end of September, there were still patches of green grass, but according to him, the overall scenery was truly impressive. "When I got there, all I could say was 'Wow' because the scenery was so beautiful," Minh excitedly shared. From Thanh Nhat town (Ha Lang district), tourists can travel about 6-7km by car or motorbike. When reaching the Khum Din hamlet intersection, 3km from the Vinh Quy commune People's Committee, turn right onto a small concrete road and continue for about 3km to reach Ba Quang grass hill. This is a high hill area, allowing visitors to capture panoramic views of the burnt grassland, resulting in artistic and Instagram-worthy photos. Mr. Minh suggests that visitors can stay overnight at Ba Quáng Panorama homestay or sit and enjoy a coffee while admiring the beautiful scenery, which is no less stunning than scenes from Korean films. "I will definitely return to Vinh Quy someday because it's a place well worth experiencing," Minh affirmed. (Photo: Provided by the interviewee)
