On the afternoon of June 11 at the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association, artist Le Nhu Nguyen opened his solo exhibition , displaying 25 oil paintings, 25 acrylic paintings, 8 ceramic statues and 10 small sketches.

Le Nhu Nguyen's father was poet Pham Tuong Ba, who lived a very emotional, optimistic and rather quiet life in Tra Vinh , in a group with musician Nguyen Tri and poet Phan Tan Thi. Although he lived quietly, his belief in poetry and creativity was unceasing. He wrote slowly but continuously until the last days of his life.

Painter Le Nhu Nguyen said that he was influenced by his father in his feelings, love, poetry and positivity. So his paintings, no matter what the subject, are always filled with poetry, emotional views and optimism. If he is not moved, he will not paint.

It is known that in 2010, Le Nhu Nguyen entered the painting department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts and graduated in 2015. She participated in many group exhibitions, creative camp report exhibitions, regional exhibitions in the Mekong Delta, etc., before becoming a member of the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association in 2022. In addition to oil and acrylic painting, Le Nhu Nguyen also paints lacquer, makes pottery and teaches art.

Art critic Nguyen Hung once concluded: "The painter - is the one who creates himself. And this creation, we need to understand, first of all is to discover the identity of the painter within himself. Every painter is truly a gathering - a gathering of the subconscious of the mother culture - with the consciousness of the same era. In that sense, the creative innocence of the painter makes each of their works naturally have a vital value with the meaning of human concreteness...".

Painter Le Nhu Nguyen said that he was influenced by his father in his affection, love, poetry and positivity.

In addition to oil and acrylic painting, Le Nhu Nguyen also paints lacquer, makes pottery and teaches fine arts.

It is completely possible to say that Le Nhu Nguyen is searching for himself and creating himself. Le Nhu Nguyen herself really likes the famous painter Gustav Klimt, but it seems that Nguyen's paintings are little influenced by this famous painter. Nguyen's paintings have a bit of the distant scent of famous painters Marc Chagall, David Driskell, Allan Paul...; there is a bit of the atmosphere from the famous painter Frida Kahlo's deathbed paintings. But Le Nhu Nguyen is not directly influenced by them, but only takes inspiration to find herself.

Painter Le Nhu Nguyen confided: "I am also a bit lucky, when I always have friends, colleagues who always encourage, inspire, even urge, "curse", that I must paint. Especially my brother, although he does not work in the art field, he clearly understands the value of art. He often repeats this idea: Anyone can make money in one way or another, but not everyone can become a true painter and leave value for life. You have been taught proper painting, lived in an artistic environment and more than that, have a heart full of love, so why don't you pursue your passion? Live with passion and leave value for life. I don't think that I paint to leave any value for life, but paint to satisfy my passion, paint to be myself".

Talking about Nguyen's exhibition, artist Vu Trung Tan commented: "The author skillfully reduced the cold and hot color tones or contrasts, creating a sweet, delicious feeling."

Painter Le Nhu Nguyen confided: "I am also a bit lucky, because I always have friends and colleagues by my side who always encourage, inspire, and even urge me to paint."

"Everyone has to worry about food and money, many people who study art are swept away by that worry. Me too, after graduating from school, I rushed into making money to take care of my life, gradually forgetting my original ideal, forgetting my dream of becoming a painter" - Le Nhu Nguyen shared.
