On the Ho Chi Minh Highway, La Son - Hoa Lien section (in Da Nang City), there are many serious landslides. Authorities are urgently working to fix the landslides, ensuring smooth and safe traffic on this route.

According to records, at Km39+750, the section passing through Hoa Vang district (Da Nang city), a landslide occurred when the concrete-reinforced positive slope was broken by the storm, leaving rocks and cement pieces waiting to fall onto the road.

Preliminary estimates show that more than 2,000 cubic meters of rock and soil were eroded and filled the longitudinal ditch of the area.

The remaining amount of rock and soil is very large and can fall down and cause burying and traffic jams at any time.
Heavy rain caused a large amount of water to flow into the drainage ditches on La Son - Hoa Lien road.
According to the report of the Road Management Office III, in addition to the severe landslide at Km39+750, the La Son – Tuy Loan Expressway was also eroded by heavy rain, eating away at the bridge pillar at Km35+879. Along with that, there were 15 locations on the route where rocks and soil filled the longitudinal and top ditches, and 250 trees fell into the protective fence.

A representative of Road Management Area III said that although the landslide areas had existed before, the situation continued to occur during the rainy season. When the geology stabilized, the landslide situation would improve.

Immediately after the landslide occurred due to the impact of storm Tra Mi, the authorities deployed human resources, machinery and equipment to clear soil and rocks, quickly fix the damage, and ensure smooth and safe traffic.
Many signs were also damaged, to overcome this situation, construction forces were mobilized to reinforce and reinstall.
The recovery work was carried out urgently but encountered many difficulties due to bad weather. Units had to bring in specialized vehicles to scrape the soil, drain stagnant water and handle landslides.
Authorities have placed warning signs to alert drivers in adverse weather conditions.
Large volumes of dirt, rocks and tree stumps have been gathered to the roadside to clear the site.
