On May 16, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs coordinated with the People's Committee of Nho Quan district to organize a conference to directly contact and have policy dialogue with over 200 poor and near-poor households in the communes of Xich Tho, Thach Binh, Gia Son, Gia Thuy, Lac Van, and Phu Son.
The opinions of poor and near-poor households at the conference focused on a number of contents such as: learning about housing support policies; preferential loans for production development; policies to support lonely elderly people with no place to rely on, single women raising children, tuition support for children to go to school; learning about support policies for poor and near-poor workers to go abroad to work...
Representatives of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and relevant agencies specifically answered each opinion, and answered questions related to poverty reduction support policies in the most satisfactory, detailed and understandable manner, meeting the expectations and concerns of the people.
According to the results of reviewing poor and near-poor households and determining the income of households working in agriculture, forestry and fishery with an average living standard in 2022, Nho Quan district still has over 1,600 poor households and over 1,900 near-poor households. In recent years, Nho Quan district has well implemented the regimes and policies of the Party, the State and the province for poor and near-poor households. In addition, Nho Quan district has also implemented many practical support solutions such as: creating conditions for access to preferential capital sources to develop production; effectively implementing the project "Diversifying livelihoods, developing poverty reduction models"; connecting, solving jobs, exporting labor...
In particular, to help the poor understand correctly and fully the support policies, and at the same time have the opportunity to express their thoughts and wishes about the support methods suitable to their family's conditions, every year, Nho Quan district has coordinated with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to organize meetings and dialogues between the poor and near-poor with representatives of functional agencies. Through dialogues, relevant agencies and localities also have a closer understanding of the specific conditions, circumstances and wishes of poor households. From there, appropriate support solutions are proposed, creating opportunities for the poor to rise up.
As planned, the policy dialogue program with poor and near-poor households will continue to be organized by the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the People's Committee of Nho Quan district on May 17 in several other localities in the district.
