Welcoming the first tourists to Hue in 2025 by air

NDO - The first tourists arriving in Hue by air on the first day of the new year 2025 were given souvenirs, enjoyed a welcoming art performance and received New Year wishes from city leaders.

On January 1, the Hue City Department of Tourism coordinated with Phu Bai International Airport and Vietnam Airlines Hue branch to welcome more than 200 passengers on a flight from Hanoi to explore the ancient capital with the "Welcoming program for the first flight and tourists to Hue city in 2025".

Accordingly, at exactly 9:15 a.m., more than 200 passengers on flight VN6317 from Hanoi to Hue landed at Phu Bai International Airport. The first group of passengers, along with the Captain and Chief Flight Attendant of the flight, were welcomed by leaders of the City People's Committee, Department of Tourism , Tourism Association, Phu Bai International Airport, Central Port Authority at Phu Bai International Airport and Vietnam Airlines Office in Hue City, who presented flowers and souvenirs to celebrate the New Year.

The first 200 passengers arriving in Hue on flight VN6317 from Hanoi to Hue landed at Phu Bai International Airport.

In particular, the 4 luckiest passengers were given 4 domestic round-trip air tickets from the airline and souvenirs from the Hue City Department of Tourism. Other passengers on the same flight were also given souvenirs, enjoyed a welcoming art performance and received New Year greetings from the leaders of Hue City.

According to the leader of the Department of Tourism, this is an opening activity to respond to the Hue Festival 2025 associated with the orientation of the "Four Seasons" Festival, and at the same time kick off a series of events and tourism activities of Hue city in 2025, welcoming Hue - a city directly under the Central Government and the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025.

In 2024, Thua Thien Hue tourism industry will welcome nearly 3.9 million visitors, an increase of 21.8% compared to 2023. Of which, there will be nearly 1.45 million international visitors, an increase of 16.6% compared to 2023, and nearly 2.5 million domestic visitors, an increase of 25% compared to 2023. Tourism revenue is estimated at VND 7,900 billion, an increase of 19.6% compared to 2023.

The proportion of international tourists accounts for nearly 36% of the total number of tourists to Hue. The tourist market mainly comes from the following markets: ASEAN, Northeast Asia, Western Europe, North America, Australia. Tourism revenue is estimated at 7,900 billion VND, an increase of 19.6% compared to 2023.

In addition, Hue city received a series of awards and titles from a number of international tourism organizations, magazines, and information channels, contributing to communicating and promoting Hue tourism destinations and products in the region and globally, attracting traditional and potential international tourist markets.

Especially in 2025, Hue will become a city directly under the Central Government and many major events will be held such as: National Tourism Year, 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Thua Thien Hue... there will be many advantages to develop the tourism economy as well as great opportunities to promote the image of Hue.
