The 500kV Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa transmission line project is invested by EVNNPT, managed by the Central Power Project Management Board (CPMB), and operated by Power Transmission Company 1.

The 92km long line has 200 foundation locations.

The project is 92km long, passing through Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces. With 200 foundation positions and 99 corridor anchorages, the project was implemented from January 18 and was approved by the investor's acceptance council to be energized on the morning of August 19.

Once completed, the project will help reduce the load and avoid overloading of existing 500kV lines, ensuring the N-1 criteria (when a line has a problem, another line will replace it to operate to stabilize the system - PV).

The line also helps to improve transmission capacity on the North-Central interface, combined with the 500kV Quang Trach - Quynh Luu, Thanh Hoa - Nam Dinh I, Nam Dinh I - Pho Noi lines, contributing to supplementing capacity from power sources in the North Central region to the load center in the Northern region.

EVNNPT Deputy General Director Truong Huu Thanh said that during the implementation process, the project has always received the attention and direction of the Prime Minister, relevant ministries and EVN. Along with that is the support of the authorities at all levels where the project passes through, the consensus and joint efforts of the people who have given up land for the project, and participated in supporting the construction of the foundation excavation phase.

Mobilizing many forces to participate in lightning-fast construction

However, the project construction is difficult when the power line passes through many high mountainous areas, many locations are in the forest, there are locations where the foundation has to dig a very large amount of rock. The volume of steel columns is large while the progress requires a short time, so the investor and contractors must make efforts to speed up the progress.

To be able to connect the power on schedule, the project has carried out construction, erected poles, pulled wires, installed positioning frames, and made technical adjustments. Therefore, in addition to the main force of EVNNPT units and construction contractors, EVN has mobilized the forces of 5 power corporations to participate in supporting the construction with a large number of qualified, experienced, and skilled workers.

At the same time, EVN also received construction human resource support from Military Region 3, Military Region 4, Viettel Group, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group... to participate in supporting the construction of poles and pulling wires for the Projects.

According to EVNNPT's assessment, the project's completion and energization meeting the Prime Minister's directive requirements is a great driving force for the entire 500kV line 3 project site to complete acceptance and inauguration.

Up to now, the 500kV line project, circuit 3, has completed 3/4 of the section. The remaining section, Quang Trach - Quynh Luu, will be completed in August to inaugurate on the occasion of National Day, according to the Prime Minister's direction that it must be completed to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2.
