
Quynh Nhai Commune Farmers' Association has 3,460 members, active in 41 branches. Mr. Dang Thai Hoc, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Quynh Nhai Commune, said: Every year, the Association launches the movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, solidarity to help each other to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty sustainably"; directs the association's grassroots to advise and guide members to exploit local strengths, build appropriate economic models. At the same time, coordinate with specialized agencies, businesses, and distributors to support farmers in developing farms and ranches; mobilize the establishment of cooperatives producing in the direction of organic production, VietGAP, contributing to increasing product value.
To facilitate members in developing production and business, the Association maintains 19 loan and savings groups, with more than 39 billion VND from the Social Policy Bank for 735 members. In addition, the Association effectively manages the Farmers' Support Fund of more than 1.1 billion VND, lending to 22 members for investment in economic development. From 2023 to present, the Association has mobilized members to establish 8 cooperative groups and 2 cooperatives. To date, the Association has 8 cooperative groups and 34 cooperatives owned by farmers. In addition, the Association coordinates to organize short-term vocational training courses for more than 150 members and rural workers, equipping them with knowledge and skills in growing safe vegetables, growing mushrooms, raising livestock, caring for ornamental plants, managing pesticides and modern agricultural solutions.

As a resettlement commune of Son La hydropower plant, with limited production land, the Association focuses on selecting suitable and effective economic models, taking advantage of the reservoir water surface area to develop aquaculture and fishing; promoting intensive farming, improving land use efficiency; applying science and technology, digital transformation in production; encouraging the use of high-quality plant varieties. At the same time, mobilizing resources to support the development of clean livestock farming, towards commodity production. Thanks to the right orientation and timely access to capital, many members have built effective economic models such as: Raising cows in barns by Mr. Tong Van Thuong, Lo Van Phanh, Muong Giang sub-area; pig raising model by Mr. Lo Van Lanh, Ngan Van Mai, Kieu Hat sub-area; growing fruit trees on sloping land by Mr. Lo Van Nho, Ngay village and Mr. Hoang Van Bun, Huoi Na village.
With diligence, daring to think, daring to do, member Hoang Van Thuong, Huoi Na Village Farmers' Association, succeeded with the model of growing fruit trees combined with raising livestock. In 2019, after participating in a technical training course on growing fruit trees, Mr. Thuong borrowed 20 million VND from the Social Policy Bank to invest in converting ineffective corn and cassava land to grow 130 Taiwanese mango trees; raising 4 cows and 2 sows. Mr. Thuong shared: In 2021, the family continued to invest in growing 1 more hectare of longan and green-skinned grapefruit, applying technical advances to production to improve productivity and product quality. From the economic model, each year, the family earns nearly 200 million VND.
At the Ngay Village Farmers' Association, 107 members actively take care of more than 10 hectares of fruit trees, mainly longan, jackfruit, and mango, while maintaining over 1,000 livestock and poultry. In 2023, the Association mobilized 12 members to establish the Ngay Village Fruit Tree Growing Cooperative with nearly 5 hectares. During its operation, the Group received support from the Farmers' Association in transferring science and technology, producing according to VietGAP standards, and promoting products.
Mr. Lo Van Nho, Head of the Cooperative, excitedly said: In 2024, the entire longan area of the Cooperative will be certified to meet VietGAP standards. In the 2025 longan crop, members harvested more than 81 tons of fresh fruit, selling at 10-15 thousand VND/kg. With increased income, households have capital to develop livestock, each household raises an average of 4 cows and 3 sows. In the coming time, the Cooperative hopes that all levels and sectors will continue to pay attention, create conditions for accessing loans, participate in training, promote and introduce products, contributing to improving production quality and stabilizing the lives of members.

Through the movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, solidarity to help each other to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty sustainably", the spirit of self-reliance, daring to think, daring to do of farmers has been strongly aroused. In Quynh Nhai, many households actively invest in planting fruit trees with high economic value, developing effective livestock models. Currently, the whole commune maintains more than 3,500 fish cages; 2,110 buffaloes, 9,520 cows, 5,580 goats, 17,000 pigs, 38,000 poultry and more than 300 hectares of elephant grass for livestock. Along with that, farmers take care of 710 hectares of fruit trees, with an estimated output of 1,750 tons.
Accompanying farmers, the Farmers' Association of Quynh Nhai commune continues to improve the quality of emulation movements, focusing on "Farmers competing in production, good business, solidarity to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty". At the same time, promoting the movement to develop collective economy, establishing and consolidating cooperatives, cooperative groups, supporting the application of science and technology, and digital transformation. With effective methods, Quynh Nhai farmers are contributing to building an increasingly prosperous homeland.
