Thu Dan Tea Company Limited, located in Binh Thuan commune, showcased its tea products at the trade promotion fair.

Along with expanding the area and production, our province focuses on technology transfer, building high-tech tea growing areas, applying VietGAP and organic production processes; protecting geographical indications, building brands, and ensuring traceability; forming sustainable linkages between businesses, cooperatives, and farmers; and simultaneously promoting investment, trade promotion, and supporting businesses and cooperatives in upgrading processing technology to create high-quality tea products and increase competitiveness in the market.

The Binh Thuan General Production, Business and Service Cooperative, located in Binh Thuan commune, introduced and promoted its tea products at the Trade Promotion Fair.

To date, the province has developed the Vinatea Moc Chau high-tech tea growing area, linking with 1,179 farming households cultivating nearly 330 hectares of tea, creating a stable and consistent source of raw materials and helping people access modern cultivation processes, improving economic efficiency. Five tea products have been protected by trademarks bearing the province's geographical names, including: the geographical indication for Moc Chau Shan Tuyet Tea; the certified trademarks for Moc Chau Oolong Tea and Phong Lai Tea; the collective trademark for Ta Xua Bac Yen Tea; and Moc Chau Shan Tuyet Tea, which has been protected in Thailand, opening up great opportunities for export. Products such as Trong Nguyen Phong Lai Tea from Binh Thuan Production, Business and General Service Cooperative; Thu Dan Oolong Tea from Thu Dan Tea Company Limited; and On Oc Shan Tuyet Tea from Tay Bac Cooperative... have all achieved OCOP 4-star standards, affirming the prestige and quality of Son La tea in the market.

The Northwest Tea and Specialty Products Company introduces its May Xanh tea product, which has achieved OCOP certification at the provincial level.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh, Deputy Director of Binh Thuan General Production, Business and Service Cooperative, said: Based on the "Phong Lai Tea" brand, the cooperative developed the "Trong Nguyen - Phong Lai Thuan Chau Tea" brand, achieving OCOP 4-star provincial rating in 2019 and being recognized as a typical national rural industrial product in 2021. Currently, the cooperative guides farmers in organic production, applies scientific and technical advancements, expands the raw material area to nearly 500 hectares, and links with more than 400 tea-growing households inside and outside the province. Each year, the cooperative processes 400-500 tons of finished tea products for export to Taiwan.

Farmers in Phiêng Cằm commune are harvesting tea.

Hung Phat Van Ho Tea Joint Stock Company is a prime example of success achieved through a combination of internal efforts and provincial support policies. In 2024, the company received 1 billion VND in support from the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center to invest in a tea flavoring system, completing a closed-loop tea production process right at the factory, significantly saving on labor and transportation costs.

Workers at Son La Tea Joint Stock Company in Phieng Cam commune are processing tea.

Mr. Bui Manh Cuong, Director of Hung Phat Van Ho Tea Joint Stock Company, said: The company was established in 2021, investing in a processing line with a capacity of 50-70 tons of fresh tea leaves per day, solving the problem of finding outlets for more than 600 hectares of Shan Tuyet tea in To Mua commune. Previously, due to a lack of capital and an incomplete process, the product had to be transported elsewhere to develop its flavor, increasing costs. Since receiving support to invest in a flavoring machine, the company has perfected its process, reduced costs, and improved production and business efficiency. The company is currently under contract with more than 300 households, processing about 5,000 tons of fresh tea leaves annually, mainly for export to the Middle East market.

The development of the tea processing industry is being carried out in a coordinated manner, combining high-tech intensive farming to create high-quality raw materials and deep processing, diversifying products to optimize value, affirm brands, expand export markets, and bring sustainable and stable livelihoods to tea growers in the province.
