Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Colonel Chu Van Thanh, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; and leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.


The project to build the Phieng Pan Commune Primary - Secondary Boarding School includes many items: Classrooms, subject classrooms, library, principal's house; dormitory area, official housing; student kitchen and many other multi-purpose buildings, swimming pool, outdoor sports field and other auxiliary items, with a total investment of over 200 billion VND, meeting the learning needs of more than 1,000 students who are children of ethnic groups in the border area.

Phieng Pan commune currently has 5 schools, with 33 campuses, 153 classrooms, more than 4,500 students, of which about 1,500 are boarding students. Many campuses have seriously degraded, lacking functional classrooms, dormitories, libraries, playgrounds and teaching equipment, making learning difficult for students.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Phieng Pan Primary - Secondary Boarding School marks an important first step in the process of realizing the goal of "each border commune having a spacious, modern school", demonstrating the attention of the Party, State, Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Son La in taking care of the cause of "growing people" in the border of the Fatherland.


Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, the leader of the Provincial Military Command requested contractors, construction consulting and supervision units to complete legal procedures, focus on mobilizing human resources, equipment, machinery, supplies and materials to construct the project to ensure progress.
