Speaking at the press conference, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Bach Lien Huong emphasized that the Photo Hanoi '25 - International Photography Biennale event is a continuation of the photo exhibition project jointly organized by the Embassy of the French Republic in Vietnam, the Hanoi People's Committee, and partners operating in the fields of culture and arts in 2021 and 2023. Following the above success, in 2025 the Photo Hanoi - International Photography Biennale event will be organized on a larger scale and more prestigious.
According to Director Bach Lien Huong, Photo Hanoi '25 is a joint picture of the resonance and connection of domestic and foreign organizations, units and individuals with the same desire to commit to bringing quality art closer to all classes of the public who love photography, people and tourists. This is a good opportunity for Vietnamese and international photographers to have the opportunity to display their outstanding works, share technology and experience in unique, diverse and rich creative methods; actively contribute to effectively promoting the potential and cultural strengths of the Capital, raising awareness of the social community and businesses about the important role of the creative cultural industry in the socio-economic development of the city.
The Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports emphasized that the implementation of the Photo Hanoi '25 event also demonstrates the city's strong commitment to implementing cultural initiatives and projects within the framework of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network through organizing events associated with diversifying forms of artistic creativity; promoting international cooperation and cultural integration between Hanoi and countries in the region and the world; making a meaningful contribution to making Hanoi a regional creative center.

At the press conference, Mr. Éric SOULIER, Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Activities, Director of the French Institute in Vietnam, emphasized that for the French Institute in Vietnam, this Biennale is not just a simple cultural event; it is the result of many years of cooperation, dialogue and mutual trust between France and Vietnam, as well as of the growing community of artists and organizations from both Vietnam and internationally.
According to Mr. Éric SOULIER, with the desire to create a community, decentralized and open project, Photo Hanoi '25 goes beyond the limits of traditional spaces such as galleries or cultural centers; at the same time, bringing photography into the heart of the city, into public spaces, making it easy for people to access and putting photography at the center of everyday life.
Photo Hanoi '25 is a rare opportunity for the Vietnamese photography community to exchange, learn and stand shoulder to shoulder with international friends right in Hanoi. The event brings together many prestigious names in world photography, opening a platform for professional dialogue, knowledge exchange and career connection.

The series of workshops, talks, art tours and portfolio reviews (professional photography consulting sessions) bring practical value, especially to young photographers on their journey to build their career, affirm their name and gradually reach out to regional and international markets.
This is also an opportunity for photography practitioners to receive direct feedback from curators, professionals and the public, thereby deepening their personal artistic practice and opening up opportunities for cross-border collaboration.
